  • It was very good when I started at NU, and I've been grandfathered in, so I can continue to save/keep all vacation time that I earn into subsequent years. I think that now, most people her between 2-4 weeks of paid vacation annually, and any unused days beyond 23 accrued vacation days (4.5 weeks) are forfeited at the end of the fiscal year.

  • Faculty can take 10-12 weeks (depending on vaginal vs C-section delivery) of maternity leave plus 14 weeks for child rearing leave, sequentially (faculty). Last I looked, father's get 4 weeks paternity leave that must be taken before the baby reaches 12 weeks of age.
