From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Economou participated in the formation of numerous individual shipping companies which involved, among others, the present group of companies. He serves as a Director of Dryships Inc. He has been a Director of Danaos Corporation since 2010 .He serves as a Director of Omninet International Limited. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at SIGNA Holding GmbH. He serves as a Member of General Council at Bank of Greece. He is a Member of ABS Council, Intertanko Hellenic Shipping Forum and Lloyds Register Hellenic Advisory Committee. He is graduated from Athens College. Mr. Economou studied shipbuilding from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1976 with a B.A. and an M.S. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and an M.S. in Shipping and Shipbuilding Management.
