One Workplace values sustainability, and through our ESG Healthy and Sustainable Materials ESG team, we are working with vendors assess where they are in their operations so that we can be better informed in our sourcing and procurement. Our ESG team hits a matter of subjects, including healthy materials, furniture waste and DEI. We also have the One Planet program, educating our designers on how to be transparent with our customers in sustainable design and social responsibility. One Workplace is the first interior solutions provider to be a member of the Carbon Impact program through Material Bank, ensuring we are shipping finish materials to our office locations with net zero shipping, and also being able to source materials that are sustainable, healthy and non-toxic. We also are assessing our greenhouse gas emissions including Scope 1, 2 and 3. All of our locations are WELL Health Certified, promoting employee health above all else.
We have an array of photovoltaics for our Santa Clara location, ensuring that we are reducing our emissions and therefore reducing our impact on the environment. We also are removing single use plastics in all of our locations, reducing the issue of microplastics and plastics in our wildlife and ocean life. We provide composting in all of our locations, reducing our landfill which contributes to global emissions. Working with the A&D community, we also have provided grants to further research into sustainable solutions such as carbon and life cycle analysis tools.
We are working through various philanthropic organizations throughout the year. Charity, a sustainable and charitable event donates to various local nonprofits including Hamilton Families, Muttville, Friends of the Urban Forest, and Project Color Corps. We also provide various opportunities to donate to other organizations such as Blue Star Moms, Second Harvest, Sacred Heart Pack a Back, Cycle for Survival -Supporting Cancer Research, Bill Wilson Center of Santa Clara County, Stanford Sierra Youth & Families of Sacramento, Brighter Beginnings East Bay, Compass Family Services of San Francisco, Dorothy’s Place of Salinas, Mary’s Place of Seattle, and Transitions – Help for Women and Children of Spokane.
