At Outbrain, we strive to be diverse at all levels of the company. Diversity is a measure of whether we have built a culture of true inclusion and empowerment. Diversity Inclusion Equality & Belonging (DIE&B) is one of the key pillars of the culture that we use to design and build our unique company DNA. We have a deep commitment to investing in talent and hiring and promoting people based on qualifications and merit. This is not in conflict with the objectives of inclusion and empowerment - we support Outbrainers to live by our values and safeguard the culture of inclusion . Here are some initiatives designed to achieve this:
- Women Empowerment and Outbrainers for Equality Employee Resource Groups: We have several Employee Resource Groups, however there are two in particular that focus on the important issues of equality and empowerment. The resource group provides a safe space in which we can discuss these topics openly, share information and lean on each other at any time.
- Diverse Interview Panels: We know diverse interview panels are fairer and lead to better hiring. For this reason, we thrive to ensure diverse interview panels for all interviews with internal and external candidates.
- Mandatory Unconscious Bias training: We understand that part of our responsibility as employers is to offer training, development and resources for all Outbrainers. Providing mandatory Unconscious Bias training helps us define the status quo, create a clear framework of behavior and open up dialogue to support a better understanding of the issues surrounding diversity and inclusion.
“We achieve diversity by pursuing a culture of inclusion and empowerment. This is a source of our strength and success.”
