Joseph Israel — Senior VP & Director at Par Pacific Holdings

Mr. Joseph A. Israel serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Par Petroleum LLC at Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. and served as its Senior Vice president since October 2015. Mr. Israel served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. (also known Par Petroleum Corporation) from January 5, 2015 to October 14, 2015. He served as Senior Vice President of Hunt Refining Company Inc. He served as the Chief Operating Officer at Alon Refining Krotz Springs, Inc. since July 2008. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Alon USA Energy Inc. from August 2008 to July 31, 2011. He has oversight responsibility for the integration and business planning of Alon USA Energy Inc.'s refining and asphalt businesses. He served as Vice President of Business Development and Mergers & Acquisitions of Alon USA Energy Inc. from March 2005 to August 2008. Mr. Israel served as Vice President for Refining and Transportation of Alon USA Energy, Inc. since February 2001. He served as Alon USA Energy Inc.'s General Manager of Economics and Commerce from September 2000 to March 2005. He has more than 30 years of experience in refining and petrochemicals. He joined ALON in March 2000. He served positions with several Israeli government companies beginning in 1998, including the Israeli Land Administration, the Israeli Fuel Administration and served as Commerce Vice President for the Petroleum and Energy Infrastructures company. Mr. Israel worked in a variety of positions in the refining industry including process development, research, project engineering, refining economics and process unit supervision. He also has held several refinery management positions, including site manager overseeing various facilities since 1990. In 1974, he began his career as a Senior Research Engineer for Texaco Research & Technical, where he worked on hydrogenation and catalytic cracking research. He held advanced engineering positions with Glitsch, Inc. and Phibro Energy Refining. While at Phibro, he was promoted to several managerial assignments including Manager of Operations and Refinery Manager between 1983-1998. He was later named Vice President and General Manager, when Phibro Energy Refining became Valero Refining and Marketing in 1997. He has been a Director at Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. since January 2015 and Par Petroleum Corporation since January 2015. He served as Director for Operations and General Manager for Southwest Chemical Services in Seabrook, Texas from 1998 to 2001. He served as a Director at Alon Refining Krotz Springs, Inc. since July 2008. Mr. Israel graduated from the Hebrew University in 1995 with a Bachelor's degree in Economy and holds an MBA in 1998, also from Hebrew University.
