Ms. A. Verona Dorch has been the Chief Legal Officer of Government Affairs, Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Peabody Energy Corporation since August 17, 2015. Ms. Dorch served as Vice President of Harsco Corporation from April 29, 2011 to March 10, 2015 and Chief Compliance Officer until March 10, 2015. Ms. Dorch served as General Counsel of Harsco Corporation until March 10, 2015 and Corporate Secretary from June 5, 2012 to March 10, 2015. Ms. Dorch served as Deputy General Counsel at Harsco Corporation since April 29, 2011 and also served as its Assistant Corporate Secretary from April 29, 2011 to June 2012. She served as the Chief Legal Officer at Harsco advising the leadership team from 3 years. She has more than 20 years of legal experience counseling diverse global businesses, including more than 10 years as in-house counsel for Harsco Corporation, a leading global industrial services company. She also has experience in corporate and securities law from multiple top-tier law firms and with the Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ms. Dorch increases her involvement in the overall management and administration of legal function and take on additional responsibilities for providing direction to Harsco's legal resources, including overseeing the work activities assigned to outside counsel. Ms. Dorch joined Harsco in 2006, having served in senior legal positions with leading law firms in Boston, New York and San Francisco and as a member of the legal team for Sumitomo Chemical Company based in Tokyo, Japan. She served as Legal Professional at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. She holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Bachelors of Science degree from Dartmouth College.
