Mr. David K. Norton, also known as Dave, has been the Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Executive Vice President at People's United Financial Inc. since October 2009. Mr. Norton serves as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at People's United Bank. He served as a Senior Executive Vice President of Human Resources at People's United Financial Inc. He served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources of New York Times Co., since February 15, 2006. He was responsible for all human resources functions of New York Times Co. , including compensation and benefits, diversity programs, performance management, staff development and succession planning. Mr. Norton served as the Executive Vice President of Human Resources of Starwood Hotel & Resorts Worldwide Inc., the holding Company of Starwood Hotels & Resorts and its Vice President of Human Resources since May 2000. In this role, he was responsible for Starwood's worldwide Human Resources function, overseeing organization design, management development, staffing, compensation and benefits, labor and employee relations, employee communications, training and executive recruitment. Prior to joining Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Norton held various positions with PepsiCo, Inc. from September 1990 to April 2000 including Senior Vice President, Human Resources of Frito-Lay, a division of PepsiCo, from November 1995 to April 2000 and Senior Vice President, Human Resources of PepsiCo Food Systems from December 1994 to October 1995. Prior to joining PepsiCo, he served as Director of Human Resources at the Quaker Oats Company in Chicago, Illinois. He has been human resources professional for 23 years, with both domestic and international experience. Mr. Norton earned a BS degree with honors in Business Administration from Michigan State University in 1977 and attended an advanced executive program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business in 1999.
