Jason P. Harkness — Managing Director for Technology Investment Banking Group at Piper Jaffray Companies

Mr. Jason P. Harkness has been Managing Director for Technology Investment Banking Group at Piper Jaffray Companies since March 7, 2016. Mr. Harkness served as an Internet Equity Research Analyst at Raymond James Financial Inc. He joined Raymond James Financial Inc on September 20, 2011 and is based in the San Francisco office. He was a Principal at Pinnacle Ventures, L.L.C. He joined the Pinnacle Ventures in June 2004 and primarily focused on consumer internet, digital media, software and mobile investments. His background includes a mix of investment banking, technology equity investing, and public accounting. His transactional experience includes more than a dozen IPOs, follow-on offerings, M&A advisory engagements and private placements. Prior to joining Pinnacle Ventures, he served as an Investment Banker at Thomas Weisel Partners, where he focused primarily on the consumer internet, digital media, communications, and software industries. He was employed at Thomas Weisel Partners Group, Inc. While at Thomas Weisel Partners, he also served at Thomas Weisel Capital Partners analyzing opportunities in and making investments in early-stage technology companies within those same industries. Prior to Thomas Weisel Partners, he served as a Member of the Audit and Advisory Group at Ernst & Young in San Francisco, where he worked with financial services and consumer products clients. Mr. Harkness received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BSBA in Finance and Accounting with summa cum laude distinction from the University of Arizona.
