Robert P. Rinek — Managing Director of the Merchant Banking Group at Piper Jaffray Companies

Mr. Robert P. Rinek, also known as Bob, serves as Managing Director of The Merchant Banking Group at Piper Jaffray Companies. Mr. Rinek is employed at PJC Capital LLC. He has more than 35 years of investment expertise. He is co-CEO of PJC Capital Partners LLC. He is a Director of RxFunction, Inc. since September 19, 2017. He is a Member of The General Partner Team and Principal of Piper Jaffray Investment Management. He started at Piper Jaffray in 1982 and directed private placements. He started the Financial Institutions Group at Piper Jaffray since 1980 and served as Global Group Head of FIG until December 31, 2007. He helped start and direct the Northern Leasing Fund, a joint venture between GATX Capital, Meier Mitchell & Co. and Piper Jaffray involved in venture leasing. He has been with Piper Jaffray for 29 years and in the banking and investment banking industry for more than 35 years. Mr. Rinek's transaction experience involves public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, leveraged buyouts, and mergers and acquisitions advisory services involving financial institutions. He served as the Chairman of The Financial Institutions Group and Managing Director of Financial Institutions Group at Piper Jaffray Companies. Prior to joining Piper Jaffray, he worked with the Northern Trust Company and ITT Financial Corporation. He serves as a Vice Chairman and Trustee at Twin Cities Public Television, Inc. He has been a Director of PerfectServe, Inc. since December 2015 and Lattice Engines, Inc. since August 03, 2015. He is a Founding Member of Twin Cities Angels, which makes angel investments in start-up companies around the Twin Cities. He is either on the board of, or has board observation responsibility for the following portfolio companies: Living Proof, Harvest Power, LogRhythm and Brainyak, Inc. He has also served on the board of Marshall Financial Ventures, an equity fund focused on investing in late-stage financial service companies. He also served on the Board of Piper Jaffray Ventures. Mr. Rinek graduated from Denison University and received a Master of Business Administration Degree from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He earned his Certificate in Management Accounting (CMA).
