Steven Schmidt — Managing Director of Technology, Media Telecommunications (TMT) Investment Banking Group at Piper Jaffray Companies

Mr. Steven Schmidt, also known as Steve, has been Managing Director of Technology, Media Telecommunications (TMT) Investment Banking Group since March 10, 2015. Mr. Schmidt has over 16 years of experience in technology, investment banking, and corporate operations. He served as Managing Director of Navidar Group LLC since June 25, 2013 and also served as its Calling Officer. He focused on the software, Internet, eCommerce, online payments and healthcare IT sectors. Over the course of his career, he has been involved as an Advisor or a Principal Investor in over 150 M&A and financing transactions and has served on the Board of Directors of technology companies in the United States, Spain and Austria. He served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Digital River Inc., where he was responsible for corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic investments. Prior to joining Digital River, he spent eleven years at Piper Jaffray & Co (NYSE:PJC). During his tenure at Piper Jaffray he served in various senior leadership roles in the technology investment banking group. He led numerous financing transactions as the Head of Technology Capital Markets and the Head of Asia Capital Markets. He has considerable experience advising on cross-border transactions, having completed numerous transactions in the United Kingdom, Europe, Israel and China.
