This article will describe how to add additional instructions to your order or images, to help better communicate your editing needs to the production team.
What Are Instructions?
Instructions allow you to add additional, structured, details to your order or image requirements. For example, if your specification contains background removal but you would like us not to remove propsfrom the image, the instructions interface would allow you to add that type of detail.
The instructions interface does not allow for free-form commenting or asking for editing requirements that are outside the scope of the specification settings or your Pixelz plan. We will cover these scenarios later on in the article and how to address them.
How To Add Order Instructions
To add instructions to an entire order, you can do the following:
1) Click on the Order Options menu on you order
2) Select the Add Instructions option
How To Add Individual Image Instructions
To add instructions to an individual image or group of images, you can do the following:
1) Select the image or group of images you want to add instructions to(hold down shift to select multiple images next to each other, CTR / COMMAND to select images not next to each other)
2) Right-click on one of the images
3) Select the Add Instructions option
Selecting Instructions To Add
Once on the Instructions page, you can select what type of edit you want to specify based on your Pixelz plan and the specification you have set up. First, you will choose an Action, then choose what part of the product receives that action. You can add as many actions as you need to the order to fulfil your instructions.
For example, if you need to remove a prop that is holding up the product, you can choose the action "Remove" and then choose "Props." You can use the search bar on the Where section to quickly find the part of the product you need to add instructions for.
Pixelz Plan Conflicts
If you are requesting instructions that conflict with your Pixelz plan or the specification associated with your order, you will receive a notification that the instruction cannot be added and how to correct the issue.
An example of a plan conflict would be trying to choose Color Change in a PRO Retailer plan. If you tried to choose this instruction option, you would receive a notice to upgrade to PRO Studio, as color changing is only offered in that plan.
Specification Conflicts: Action Required
Many of the actions are actually fundamental settings on you specification or features (such as colour matching or expedite on PRO Retailer) which are accessed elsewhere. When these are selected, rather than creating an instruction, you will receive information on how to edit these settings on your specification or place an order usingthese features.
An example of a specification conflict would be trying to add an instruction regarding shadow when the shadow add-on has not been added to the specification. If you tried to choose this instruction option, you would receive a notice to update your specification to include a shadow add-on.
Instructions NotRequired
If you select an instruction option that is already included in your specification, we will let you know that you do not need to add it again. For example, asking to recreate a part of the product, when that is already included in your retouching package in PRO Retailer.

This article discusses the Image Library add-on and functionality for the Pixelz Professional product.
What Is The Image Library?
The Image Library helps you to stay organized with your images and orders within the Professional product. Anytime you upload a folder into Professional it will automatically generate inside the Image Library to help you keep track of what you have added to the system for processing.
Using the web interface or API to upload? The Image Library easily stores and sorts all of your images to be easily searched and categorized in your Professional account.
HERE
Collection View
With any folder or set of images, you have the option to create your own unique view to categorize them within the Image Library. By creating collections, you can set up specific rules for new images and folders to automatically be added and sorted into a specific folder.
For example, if you want any order completed in December to go into the Winter Collection folder, you can set this date range up as a rule for the collection. Then any image or order uploaded during that date range will automatically sort into the Winter Collection folder, to be easily found and accessible.
Image Management
Since all of your current images are stored within the Image Library, you can access numerous filters and sorting tools to easily find the images you need. Want to view images awaiting your approval? You can filter by this option. Need to see all imagesprocessed under a specific specification? There's a filter for that too!
Adding The Image Library
The Image Library add-on is available as an upgrade at anytime as long as you have an active Professional subscription. The Image Librarycan be accessed in the dashboard of your account, in the extension store (on the left) - which can also be accessed by clicking on the link .

View ArticleWhat is Stacking?
Stacking, or image combination, allows users to combine up to 10 images into one "stack" or custom collage images. This can be done through a pre-set template or by manually combining images into one frame.
Who Should Use Stacking?
Online retailers use stacking for a variety of purposes to display their images on both their own eCommerce site as well as marketplaces such as Amazon or eBay. The following are the most common use cases:
Multipacks
When selling a pack of one product, such as socks or underwear, it's common to create the main image which displays all products that are included in the pack. This might be a range of different variants, several of the same variant, or a combination of the two - as in the examples below.
HERE
Multi-Variant Listings
This option is historically seen on images used in an online marketplace. Marketplaces usually have their own requirements for stacked images, so it's best practice to double-check the marketplace standards before creating your own.
A multi-variant listing is a listing in which there are multiple versions (colors for example) of the same item for sale on a single product listing. Unlike in a multi-pack listing, the products are for sale individually, but the buyer must choose which one they want to purchase on the listing page.
On marketplaces, there is fierce competition between sellers for buyers' attention. Every time a potential buyer is exposed to one of their listings in search results, by displaying the main image containing every variant available, sellers can increase the exposure of their inventory, thereby increasing the chance of a sale. Sellers also save time and fees compared to creating individual listings for each product variant.
These competitiveconditions normally don't exist on a retailer's own branded website so these kinds of images are rarely used.Multi-variant type images can be unattractive, make websites look inconsistent and a bit chaotic. From a best-practice point of view, they should be avoided outside of marketplaces.
How Do I Access The Stacking Extension?
Stacking can be accessed in the dashboard of your account, in the extension store (on the left) - which can also be accessed by following the link .
Pixelz charges $1 per stacked image to your order total and is offering the subscription free of charge for 1 month. After the 1 month introductory period, you would pay a $25 per month subscription fee($19 monthly for annual payment) to keep the stacking feature available in your account.

Colorways allow you to create different color versions of your products that are submitted to Pixelz. You can create a color change only order or you can create color versions in an order with a specification.
How Does It Work?

Once your Color Library contains your color references, simply upload the images as per usual. Then right-click on the images that need to be color changed, choose Colorways, Make Color Change and begin to create your color change image set.
What Does It Cost?
The Colorways extension is an additional $25 per month added onto the Professional plan subscription, or an additional $19 per month if an annual commitment is made.
How Do I Access Colorways?
Colorways can be accessed and enabled in the dashboard of your account, in the extension store (on the left) - which can also be accessed by clicking on the link HERE.

This article discusses the users feature for Enterprise.
What Are Users?
Users allows you to create separate accounts, logins and permissions for your team members who will be using Enterprise. Each Enterprise license comes with 5 user seats. Additional user seats can be purchased through your account as needed.
User Profiles
As the account owner, you can set up as many user roles as needed, such as Accountant, Photographer or Studio Manager. User profiles are where you assign permissions to your users and can store them to be applied to future users as needed. This way, you do not need to create individual permissions settings every time you create a new user, you can simply reuse a stored user profile.
User Access
Individual users will be given separate email addresses to access the Enterprise account as well as unique permissions set up by the Enterprise account owner. Permissions can either allow or restrict the user on what features and settings they have access to. For example, if you have a user the just needs to upload orders, but does not need access to the final versions for download, you can restrict their access to just the upload functionality on their account. Permissions can be added, removed or changed at anytime by the account owner.

No! Pixelz can accept product images shot on any type of background. Though neutral background colors, such as white or beige tones, are normally easier to remove with clean lines, we can still remove any background you submit with your product images and return high quality, web-optimized images.

View ArticleHere at Pixelz, were constantly analyzing data both on how our customers use our services and on our own performance. Its vital to us that we maintain the optimal balance between high, consistent image quality, on-time delivery, service level, and price.
To this end, we are making some adjustments to our Service Level Agreements. See whats changing in green below:
New weekend delivery rulesWe are only seeing a small number of images requiring Saturday delivery. For that reason, we have updated our standard working days to Monday through Friday, which also allows our production teams to have more quality time with their families during the weekend. Consequently, if your deadline falls on a weekend there are new rules for when you receive your images back. For instance, a deadline falling on a Saturday will now be delivered on the following Monday. Read more about the different rules for Solo & Professional.
Professional standard turnaround now Next morning 9 AMWe are seeing the majority of our Professional customers downloading their images after 9 AM. For that reason, we have updated the standard turnaround time to 9 AM. This allows extra flexibility in our production and helps us deliver your images on time every day. Learn more about your delivery times here.
Updates to Daily Image GuaranteeSince we launched the Daily Image Guarantee, the vast majority of customers have had a lower daily image need than we were planning after. For this reason, we are updating the Daily Image Guarantee to 200 images on Professional and 50 images on Solo. This will help our production plan even better going forward. Learn more about your Daily Image Guarantee here.
Add-on price updatesTo more accurately match the time we are spending on creating a shadow, clipping path or invisible mannequin, we are updating the prices for these add-ons for the first time since the launch of both our Solo and Professional plan. The following rules apply for the price update:
Existing Specifications- The specification price stays the same as long as you do not update the specification settings.- The new add-on price will automatically be applied if you edit and save an existing specification.
New specifications- Any new specifications created with an add-on will have the new price applied.Overall these updates will allow us to better manage the daily inflow of images and ultimately ensure on-time delivery for you every day.
If you have any questions at all, you can reach us at .
View ArticleWhat is Expedite?
Sometimes you just need images returned as quickly as possible to meet an urgent deadline. That's why we built the Expedite option, available on our Professional and Enterprise plans.
The Expedite feature allows you to reduce the turnaround time of a specific order, image or group of images to just 3 hours.
Watch the video below for a full tutorial on how to expedite individual images, groups of images or entire orders.
How much does expedite cost?
For each image expedited in an order, you simply pay double what it would cost to process the image with standard turnaround.
For example, if you have uploaded 20 images on a specification with a price of $1.25 and you choose to expedite 10 of these images, the cost will be as follows:
Original order: 20 x $1.25 = $25
Expedited images: 10 x $1.25 = $12.50
Total cost of order: $37.50
When you select an image or images to be expedited, you will see a pop-up showing the additional fee that will be applied on top of the standard order price. Simply confirm to continue with the order.
When is the expedite service available?
Because the expedited images must be worked on immediately and our production offices are located in Asia, the expedite service availability must coincide directly with our editors' working hours.
This means that the expedite service is available from4am Monday to 4am Friday UTC.
For most time zones around the world, this means you can expedite orders Monday through Thursday.
The exact availability of the expedite service will be shown on the orders page in your own time zone.
Is there a limit to how many images can be expedited?
Yes. How many images you are able to expedite in a 24 hour period depends on your plan. The standard expedite limits are as follows:
Professional: 20 images / 24 hours
Enterprise: 50 images / 24 hours
Enterprise customers requiring more than the standard number of expedited images per day have the possibility of negotiating a higher limit as part of their Standard of Work (SOW). Contact your Customer Success Manager for more details.

We highly recommend that you use FTP to upload and download your images, especially if youre sending us many images at once. Once set up, sending us your images via FTP is as simple as dragging and dropping the required files into a folder on your computer.
Section 1: FTP For Beginners
FTP stands for file transfer protocol and is simply a method of transferring files between two computers over the internet.
To transfer files to Pixelzwith FTP, you need to download a program called an FTP client. The FTP client program connects your computer to PixelzFTP server allowing you to transfer files to us quickly and easily.
Once downloaded, the client program appears as a window on your desktop, with the files on your computer on one side, and your files on the FTP server on the other.
To upload and download, you simply drag and drop from one to the other. As soon as your images appear on our FTP server, they enter the production process. Likewise, as soon as your images are finished production, they will be placed on the FTP server, ready for you to download them.
Using an FTP client
We recommend you use FileZilla, but our FTP server is compatible with all client programs.
FileZilla is a free, open source FTP client that can be downloaded from http://filezilla-project.org/
FileZilla is available for both Mac and Windows.
1) Downloading and installing FileZilla
Go to the http://filezilla-project.org and download the latest version of FileZilla client for your operating system. Follow the on-screen instructions to install.
2) Setting up FileZilla
Launch FileZilla andlocate the Host, Usernameand Passwordfields at the top of the window. Enter one of the following Hostaddresses depending on your location:
ftp-east.pixelz.com (North America)
ftp.pixelz.com (Europe)
ftp-sg.pixelz.com (Asia)
For the Usernameand Password, use the same credentials as your Pixelz.com account. You can leave the PORT field empty. Now click the blue Quickconnectbutton.
here
3) Using the FTP client
The FileZilla client is very simple to use. On the left side you should see your own computers folders (Local site) and on the right you see the PixelzFTP server (Remote site).
On the remote site, you will see two folders: Upload and Download.
You can transfer files and folders from your computer to the remote site and vice versa by dragging and dropping from one to the other.
Uploading Images
Inside the folder Upload you will see a folder for each specificationyouve created in the login area (Click here to learn how to set up your specifications). To upload images, just drag and drop your files into the folder corresponding to the specificationyou want to use.
You can also upload a folder of images as a subfolder. As soon as the images are uploaded, they will enter our production process and you will be able to see the order in your online account in 5-10 minutes.
For pay-as-you-go customers, once you see the order in your account, simply make a payment online and your images will be sent into production.
Downloading Images
When you receive an email informing you that your images are ready, just go to the folder called Download. Inside, youll see a folder for each of your specifications. Inside the relevant specificationfolder, youll find a folder containing your finished images.
If you uploaded a folder of images, the folder will have the same name as the folder you uploaded. If you didnt upload a folder, the folder will be labelled with the relevant date.
Section 2: FTP for Experienced Users
Settings
You can find your FTP settings in your Pixelz account by clicking on "Account" then clicking on "FTP Settings."
Uploading Images
When logged in, you will see an upload folder and a download folder. Inside the upload folder, you will find a folder for each specificationyou have in the system (You can create a new specificationin your Pixelz account).
Just upload your files to the folder corresponding to the specificationyou want to use. You can also upload a folder of images as a subfolder. As soon as the images are uploaded, they will enter our production process.
Downloading Images
Downloading is just as easy as uploading. When you receive an email informing you thatyour images are ready, just go to the download folder. Inside this folder, you will find folders corresponding to your specifications.
Your processed images will be inside the relevant template folder. If you uploaded a folder of images, you will find a folder with the same name as the folder you uploaded. If you didnt upload a folder, you will find a folder labeled with the relevant date.
*All files in the system will be deleted after 30 days, so make sure you download your images before this time period is up.
How to name images when combining images (ie invisible mannequin or 3D effect)
When you would like us to combine images, we can combine up to 5 images.
Before you upload, its important that you create a relevant specificationin the login area. Just pick the Invisible Mannequin option (located under Add-Ons) plus any other services you require. Please remember to write any special instructions in the comment field in the specification. You can learn more about adding comments to a specification .
Its very important that images you upload are named in such a way that our system can see which images belong to which product. You do this by giving each new image in a series the same name and a different ending. You can use either a dash (-) or an underscore (_).
Examples of correct combined image naming:
myimage.jpgmyimage_x.jpgmyimage_xx.jpg will be combined into myimage.jpg
imagename-1.jpgimagename-2.jpg will be combined into imagename.jpg
*Please note, there can be a delay of up to 30 minutes before the uploaded images are visible in the login area.

What is a specification?
Specifications are at the heart of everything we do at Pixelz.
A specification is a set of instructions for what should be done to your images. Each specification contains settings which define the specific steps the images go through, the kind of editors they get assigned to, and which editing tasks are completed.
We use settings rather than subjective descriptions of editing tasks because this allows us to ensure quality, consistency, speed and accuracy.
Every time you submit images for processing, they must be assigned to a specification. Each specification has a price. This is the price you will pay for each individual image submitted on the specification.
Your images must be submitted on a specification that contains settings which align with your needs and expectations. If you can't find settings that meet your needs, please reach out to your Market Response Rep or to our Customer Success department before uploading your order.

This article will describe when and how you can edit or cancel an existing order before it goes into production for processing.
Editing An Order
There is a very small window of time to edit an order before it goes into the Pixelz production system. If you notice a mistake or change that needs to be made to an order after you submit it, you can still edit the order if the order status is, "Ready For Production."
To edit the order, click on "View" and this will take you to the order confirmation pageto add images, comments or delete images. Once your order is updated, click on "Submit Order" to submit the order changes.
Canceling An Order
If an order is still in the status of "Ready For Production" you can cancel the order by clicking on the Cancel button to the right of the order.
You will receive a confirmation screen to make sure you want to cancel your order. Once you cancel your order, you will receive free image credits for the amount of images that were in your order.
Please note, that once your order has gone from the status of "Ready For Production" to "In Production" the order cannot be changed or canceled.

View ArticlePlacing an order involves choosing a specification or specifications and uploading a set of images for processing.
There are various options available to you for getting your images into our production system. The method that's right for you depends on the type of images you have to upload and the volume.
The simple option:
Upload images directly via your Pixelz account
The web uploader in your Pixelz account is without a doubt the simplest way to place an order.
Our web uploader supports JPG, PNG and PSD files and can handle several hundred images in a single upload.
Filezilla.
Start by locating the specification you wish to use on the Specifications page.
Click 'Upload', select the images you wish to upload and then 'Continue'
Review the images uploaded and then click 'Checkout' to proceed.
Pay for your order, and your orders will immediately enter our production system.
Placing Multiple Orders in One Go
If you have placed several orders, then you also have the option to upload them all at once with our "Checkout All"-button. By doing this, you will have your orders consolidated into one invoice instead of an individual invoice for each order.
The "Checkout All"-option will appear as soon as you have more than one order ready for checkout in the "Orders"-menu:
*If you have TIFF or RAW files or are uploading more than 500 images in a single upload, you should use FTP. See below.
The best option for 500+ images or TIFF/RAW files:
Upload via FTP
For a thorough tutorial on uploading images via FTP, we recommend that you watch the video below. Otherwise, you can find simple instructions in the following section.
Summary
To upload images to Pixelz via FTP, you need to install an FTP client. We recommend
Once installed, you need to enter your Pixelz FTP credentials to connect to the FTP server. You can find your credentials under Account Settings / Settings / FTP.
Transferring images
Once connected, you can transfer images from your computer to the FTP server.
Inside the folder Upload you will see a folder for each specification thatyou'vecreated in your Pixelz account. To upload images, just drag and drop your files into the folder corresponding to the specificationyou wish to use for your order.
If your images are contained within a folder on your computer, it's often easier to drop the entire folder into the specification folder on the FTP. Any sub-folder structure will be retained in the final download folder.
Your images should be visible within your Pixelz account within 5 minutes. Don't worry if you don't see them right away. As long as you don't see an error message on the FTP client itself, the images will appear in your account after a short space of time.
Paying for your order
After you upload your images via FTP, you must log in to your Pixelzaccount and pay for your order. Your images will not be sent to production until your payment as been completed.
View ArticlePaying for Images:
You will be able to pay for your images with Credit Card, PayPal & Pixelz Credits. Once you have created your order, you will be taken to the payment page where you will be able to select from Credit Card, PayPal & Pixelz Credits. You will also have the choice to save a credit card on your account, to expedite your payment process (See below under "Subscription Payment"). here
How can I reduce my number of invoices?
Pixelz Credits is a particularly useful system if you would like to reduce the number of Pixelz transactions for accounting purposes or if you would like to speed up the process of placing multiple orders throughout the day. You can read more here on how to purchase and use Pixelz Credits.Another way of speeding up the process of uploading several orders and reducing invoices is by using our "Checkout All"-button. This will allow you to upload multiple orders in one go and generate one invoice containing all of your orders instead of an individual invoice for each order. You can read more about this option.
Subscription Payment:
To ensure your use of Pixelz is as seamless as possible, you will have to add a credit card on file for your monthly recurring subscription. To add a credit card, head to your account settings and your payment methods. To add a new credit card, click the "Add Payment Method" as seen below:
View ArticleWe have many more specification settings available behind the scenes than are visible to you within your Pixelz account. Sometimes this is because they are complex and therefore difficult to make comprehensible within a self-service interface. Sometimes this is because they are rarely used so would clog up and complicate the user interface unnecessarily.
In any case, if you have specific requirements that you can't find options for in your account, these can often be met by our Onboarding Specialists adjusting a few knobs and dials in our system. We also have the option to upload specific example images to your specifications to ensure our editors understand your requirements.
Be sure to reach out to your Professional Plan Specialist (during your trial) or our Customer Success Team (if you're a subscriber) if this is the case.
The limitations of customisation on Professional
The editing options and retouching packages available on Professional are based on our years of knowledge of image best practice within e-commerce. In this sense, they aim to cover all of the the most common product image editing and retouching requirements in the industry.
Being able to standardise the options available within Professional enables us to drive efficiency in our production, allowing us to pass these savings onto you in the form of the low per image prices offered - as well as offering our standard next morning turnaround and 3 hour expedite service.
We are happy to make minor tweaks and adjustments to your specifications to fine tune them to your requirements, however, we cannot create completely custom specifications which deviate significantly from the core options available.
Depending on the complexity, the initial costs of creating such custom specifications as well as the ongoing costs of ensuring and maintaining a high level of quality and consistency across all of our editing locations and thousands of editors over time, is such that we generally reserve such work for our Enterprise level clients only.
Compare plans
In some cases, we can meet your needs on Professional with a custom onboarding (see below). In other cases, this will not be possible. For example, if you have unique, custom editing requirements which are specific to one off orders or even single images, then Pixelz is not the right editing partner for you.
Custom onboarding
If you have a specific, custom specification requirement that we cannot meet within the standard options available plus a little bit of tweaking and adjusting, we might be able to meet your requirements by performing a custom onboarding.
We would need to assess whether it is possible to:
a) create the specification in our system and
b) guarantee image quality and consistency on an ongoing basis
Our Onboarding Specialists will make this assessment on a case by case basis. If we are able to meet your requirements, we charge a one-off fee for this custom service.
Please reach out to Customer Success to discuss this option.

For a more detailed overview, see Retouch Packages
6. Color matching
Product images with inaccurate colors damage customer trust and increase returns. Getting colors under control can have a huge impact on your business.
As a Professional subscriber, you get access to our colour matching interface, allowing you to group images together with a colour reference image. Our editors will use the reference image to tune in the other images to match. For more detailed information, see Adding colour matching to an order.

Any images uploaded after midnight will be delivered by 9 AM the following morning.
What about weekends?
All images uploaded from Friday through Sunday will automatically be moved to 9 AM the following Monday.
View ArticleWe've just launcheda series of major updatesto help you fine-tune, adjust, manage and organise your specifications more easily.
Here's what's new
Completely redesigned specification page
New functionality for creating additional outputs
Improved search and new filters for tags, users, clients and favourites
Introducing the new specification page design
We've been gradually upgrading the functionality and design of our web app since we launched Professional back in 2017. The specification page is the final piece in the puzzle and we're delighted to say that the design and performance now match the rest of the site.
Dynamic side panels provide enhanced visual explanation of settings, add-ons and retouch packages
Instead of packing all settings into a single scrollable page, the new page makes use of dynamic side panels for each settings category.
This has enabled us to bring in the enhanced visual explanation of settings, add-ons and retouch packages designed initially for the Onboarding flow on Professional, making it easier for you to make informed choices when creating and adjusting your specifications.
NEW FEATURE! Create additional outputs on a specification level
Sometimes you need an additional set of images with minor settings variations from the main configuration. The settings variations are so minor that it doesn't seem worth it to pay full price for a separate order on a separate specification. Maybeyou need a web-ready JPG + a PSD with layers for back up, or you use a grey background on your own site but need a version with a white background for marketplaces.
You can now set this up yourself on a specification level with the'Additional Output' option.
All the settings from the main specification will automatically be inherited as default. You can then use the additional output side panel to specify which of the settings should be different. The Additional Output 'cover' will show you only the settings which vary from the main configuration.
And because we're effectively doing the main editing work and then saving in slightly different versions, you only pay 20% of the main specification price for each additional output.
There are certain settings such as retouching packages and add-ons that we don't consider 'minor variations' so these are not included in the options that can be altered. These are inherited from the main configuration by default.
All model retouch packages now grouped together
It's now easier than ever to select the right retouch packages for your on model shots. We created a new retouch category 'Garment, Model and Background' to group all the model options together in one place.
Better explanation of settings conflicts
Confused about why you can't have a clipping path with a PNG, or background retouch on a specification with a white background? Instead of just removing the conflicting options, on the new page we show you which settings are incompatible, tell you why and show you your options for fixing the conflict.
Organise your specifications with tags, internal notes and favorites
Sometimes the sheer volume of specifications in your account can get overwhelming. Many users have told us that they find it difficult to remember which specification is for which product type or which one is the most up to date version for the current season or style guide.
We created some new features to solve these problems.
Use the new TAGS feature to add relevant tags to your specifications. This could be the product types the specification is for, a shoot date, collection, photographer, client - whatever makes sense for how you work.
Use the new NOTE TO SELF field for anything you need to remember about the specification, or something you need to communicate to other members of your team.
Click the star to add the specification to your FAVORITES to easily locate it on the specification overview page, when placing orders or to make sure your team mates are always using the most up to date version.
Quickly find the specifications you need with enhanced search and new filter options
We've seriously improved the functionality on the Specifications Overview page to help you better manage your specification, quickly find the ones you need and collaborate more effectively with team mates.
Improved page load performance and search functionality
We now load 10 specifications by default before you need to click to load more. We've also improved page load speed and made the search experience more responsive and intuitive.
New filter options
Tired of scrolling through endless specifications every time you need to place an order? The new filter functionality will help you find the specification you need, quickly.
FAVORITES STAR
Now any specifications that you've added to your favorites can quickly be displayed by clicking the new star filter.
FILTER BY TAGS
Maybe you need to find all the specifications for the current collection, a particular product type or client. You could also use it to help team mates select the correct specification when placing an order. Now any tags that you've added to your specifications can be used as a filter.
FILTER BY USERS
If you have multiple users on your account, it can be useful to be able to only see either your own specifications, or to see which specifications have been created by specific users. Now you can use the Users filter to do just that:
View ArticleEasily create additional outputs on a specification level
Sometimes you need an additional set of images with minor settings variations from the main settings and they seem so minor that it doesn't seem worth it to pay full price for a separate order on a separate specification.
Maybeyou need a web-ready JPG + a PSD complete with layers for back up, or you use a grey background on your own site but need a version with a white background for marketplaces.
You can now set this up yourself on a specification level with thenew 'Additional Output' option.
All the settings from the main specification will automatically be inherited as default.
Use the additional output side panel to specify which of the settings should be different.
The Additional Output 'cover' will show you only the settings which vary from the main configuration.
Are there any settings which can't be changed on the additional output?
Yes. There are certain major settings such as retouching packages and add-ons that we don't consider 'minor variations' so these are not included in the options that can be altered. These are inherited from the main configuration by default.
How much does it cost?
Because we're effectively doing the main editing work and then saving in slightly different versions, you only pay 20% of the main specification price for each additional output.

If you created a Pixelz account and did not receive your account activation email to your inbox, the first thing you should do is check your SPAM, Junk or Trash folders. Sometimes, Pixelz emails get filtered out the first time they come through to a new user's inbox. If you find your Pixelz emails in one of these folders, be sure to add us to your address book or mark it as "Not SPAM" so you will be sure to receive your transactional emails to your inbox.
If you have checked all your email folders and still cannot find the activation email, please contact our Customer Success team at [email protected], and they can resend it to you.
View ArticleHow do I create a specification?
On Professional, you have 3 options for creating specifications. Which option is best for you depends on your specific requirements and knowledge level.
* Please note, your account comes pre-populated with a sample specification. This is a fully functional specification and can be used if you like, but is primarily intended as an example. We recommend that you use the tools explained below to create your own specifications to meet your needs.
1. Onboarding
When first starting out, we strongly recommend using our Onboarding tool to generate your first set of specifications.
In our experience, different product types need separate specifications with slightly different settings to be displayed at their best.
We've manually onboarded thousands of enterprise level customers over the years and have come to know a huge amount about the most common requirements and best practice within ecommerce imagery. We distilled all of this knowledge into the Onboarding tool in Professional.
By answering a series of targeted questions regarding product type, studio set up and retouch and add-on preferences, you can generate a set of recommended specifications which will give you the best results from Pixelz while also conforming to industry best practice.
This is also the best place to learn about and select our product specific retouch packages. See Retouch Packages
Once created, you can always adjust the specific settings by clicking 'Edit' on the Specifications page.
See Working with Specifications for more details
2. Marketplaces
If you're looking for simple editing to meet the image requirements of specific marketplaces and channels, you can choose from our range of marketplace presets. These are simple specifications which ensure compliance with the minimum standards in terms of size, aspect ratio, file type and object size.
3. Manual
If you already have a clear idea of what you need and (perhaps) also a pretty good knowledge of image editing / Photoshop, then the manual option allows you to bypass all of our advice and guidance and choose the specific settings you need directly.

Once you've created some specifications, you might be wondering how you can fine tune them to meet your needs. This article covers the various options available to you as well as explaining why you need separate specifications for different product types and requirements.

When and why you need different specifications for different purposes
Product-specific retouch packages: why you should stick to the products for which they were intended

How do I edit an existing specification?
To edit a specification, you simply navigate to the Specifications menu and click 'Edit' on the relevant specification.
You now have access to all settings on the specification and can adjust and save.
If the 'edit' button is missing, this means that your specification has been locked. In this case, please contact Customer Success for any settings adjustments.
For a more detailed overview and explanation of all the settings available for adjustment, check out the video tutorial below:
When and why you need different specifications for different purposes
When you submit an order on a specification, all of the images in that order will be edited according to the settings of that specification.
If you have different requirements for some images (for example, file type, background, size etc.), you must create a new specification and submit a separate order.
A simple rule of thumb is that you must create a specification for each unique set of requirements.
Retouch packages: why you should stick to the products for which they were intended
Retouching is a complex process and highly specific to particular product types. The retouching required for a model's clothing for example is completely different to that required for a watch or a chair.
Retouching only works when we perform the right retouching tasks on the right kinds of products. Each retouch package contains a set of highly specific retouching settings. These settings define which steps the image goes through and which editors with which particular skills your images get assigned to.
When you upload product image to a specification containing a retouch package intended for a different type of product, the editing tasks your images are assigned to are often irrelevant and unnecessary. The result can be that you will see no change in your finished image.
If you are in doubt as to which retouch package is appropriate for your images, please reach out to Customer Success before you upload your order.
What to do if you can't find the options you need
We have vastly more specification settings available behind the scenes than are available to you within your Pixelz account. Sometimes this is because they are complex and therefore difficult to make comprehendible within a self-service interface. Sometimes this is because they are rarely used so would clog up and complicate the user interface unnecessarily.
In any case, if you have specific requirements that you can't find options for in your account, these can often be met by our Onboarding Specialists tweaking a few knobs and dials in our system. We also have the option to upload specific example images to your specifications to ensure our editors understand your requirements.
Be sure to reach out to your Professional Product Specialist (during your trial) or Customer Success (if you're a subscriber) if this is the case.
The limitations for customisation on Professional
The editing options and retouching packages available on Professional are based on our years of knowledge of the most common needs as well as image best practice within e-commerce.
In some cases, we can meet your needs with a custom onboarding (see below).
If we are able to meet your requirements, we charge a fee for this custom service.
Please reach out to Customer Success to discuss this option.

This article will describe how to set-up an invisible mannequin effect for your product images.
Invisible Mannequin Effect
Whether you know it as the invisible mannequin, 3D effect, neck insert or ghost mannequin, it's all the same! With the invisible mannequin effect, you can upload 2-5 images in your Pixelz order to be combined into one. An invisible mannequin effect can be used on your apparel images for sleeves, necks, waists, hats or any other section that needs a 3D effect.
Creating An Invisible Mannequin Effect
Step 1
Create Your Order
Step 2
Upload the product images and image inserts you need to combine.
Step 3
Create Your Specification
Step 4
Select the Invisible Mannequin option from the Add-Ons section
Step 5
Click the Invisible Mannequin radio button and click "Save" to apply this add-on to your specification.
Step 6
Once you save and select the specification for your order, you will need to choose your images to be combined manually. To select your images to combine, hold down the Control or Command key (depending on your system), and click on the images to multi-select. Once the images are highlighted, right-click on one of the images and click Combine.
Step 7
Once your images are combined, you will be taken to the confirmation page to review the combination or combine more images if needed. Once your images are combined, you will not see all of your images, just the single image for each product that has been combined. For example, if you upload 8 images and each invisible mannequin contains 2 images, you will only see 4 final images on the confirmation screen after they have been combined.
You will only pay for the combined image and not the individual images for the order.Once you have confirmed everything is correct, simply submit payment for your order and your invisible mannequin images will be back in your account within 48 hours.

This article will describe the different types of image optimizations available in a basic order specification.
Order Specifications
To get started using Pixelz, you must first create anOrder Specification. Order Specifications tell our editors exactly how your images should be edited. They are saved in your account and can be re-used for future orders.
Many of our customers like to create their own custom Order Specifications, but we also offer preset Order Specifications for people who sell on marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay. By using these preset Order Specifications, we guarantee that your images will be Amazon or eBay compliant**.
Types Of Order Specifications
There are three recommended ways to create your Order Specification based on where you plan to sell your products.
Marketplaces
If you plan on using a marketplace such as Amazon or eBay to sell your products, we would suggest using our Marketplace Wizard. This will assist you with ensuring your images will be compliant with your marketplace standards. You can learn more about how to use the Marketplace Wizard here.
Step-By-Step
If you are a photographer, have experience editing your own product images, or own an eCommerce site, then we would suggest using our Step-By-Step option to set up your specifications. This will allow you to customize your specifications using more advanced options, as well as select add-ons for your images. You can learn more about how to set up your specifications using the Step-By-Step option here.
Manual
If you are advanced with image editing and own an eCommerce site, the we would suggest using our Manual option to set up your specifications. This will allow you to pick and choose from advanced image optimizations, as well as have the opportunity to select add-ons for your images. You can learn more about how to set up your specifications here.
**The only images that we are unable to make marketplacecompliant are images that are smaller than the marketplaces' minimum size standards. For example, we are unable to changea 200x200 pixel product image to a 1000x1000 pixel product image (by upscaling). If we did this, the final image would most likelybe blurry/grainy and risk the possibility of being rejected by the marketplace.
