Michael A. Garratt — Senior VP & Chief Commercial Officer at PolyOne Corporation

Mr. Michael A. Garratt has been Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of PolyOne Corporation since April 18, 2016. Mr. Garratt is responsible for leading PolyOne's global technology, sales and marketing functions. He served as Senior Vice President and President of Performance Products and Solutions at PolyOne Corporation from September 2013 to April 18, 2016. Mr. Garratt was responsible for driving global growth through an array of products and services for Geon coating, molding and extrusion applications, as well as PolyOne's contract manufacturing business. He joined PolyOne in 2013 from Marmon Utility, a Berkshire Hathaway company, where he served as President. Prior to joining Marmon, Mr. Garratt served as Chief Operating Officer of the private equity-owned Excel Polymers, where he led a successful business turnaround, resulting in improvements in revenue and profitability. He served as General Manager of the Industrial & Consumer Group and Vice President of Hexpol Compounding, LLC (formerly Excel Polymers, LLC). Prior to joining Excel Polymers in 2005, Mr. Garratt held positions as the Commercial Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa for DuPont Dow Elastomers SA and the Managing Director for DuPont Dow Elastomers GmbH. He worked at DuPont Dow Elastomers for 10 years. Before joining DuPont Dow served as a Founding Member of Market Development in 1996, Mr. Garratt spent 6 years in engineering plastic sales and elastomer marketing at the Dow Chemical Company, where he served in commercial and marketing roles in Canada and the United States. He has more than 20 years of experience in the specialty polymer sector. His chemical career began with The Dow Chemical Company, where he served in commercial and marketing roles in Canada and the United States. Mr. Garratt holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry from McMaster University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Toronto.
