Leon founded Provident in 1991, following twelve years at predecessor firms. Leon launched Provident with a distressed asset strategy, by purchasing large land parcels from the Resolution Trust Corporation (the “RTC”). Provident was able to acquire a portfolio of over eighty (80) large land parcels, in addition to several distressed subdivisions, which enabled Provident to establish itself as a successful development and real estate investment firm. Over the past 30+ years, Leon and Provident have grown the portfolio to $5 Billion in Real Estate project spanning multiple asset classes. In 2020, Leon was inducted into the NTCAR Hall of Fame.
