Mr. Michael R. Herman, also known as Mike, serves as a Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. since March 2013 and September 2003 respectively and also serves as its Corporate Secretary. Mr. Herman serves as President of Southern Wood Piedmont Company. He served as Assistant Corporate Secretary of Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. He served as a Senior Vice President, General Counsel at Rayonier Inc. from August 2003 to June 2014 and its Assistant Corporate Secretary from October 2003 to June 2014. He joined Rayonier in 2003 as a Vice President. Mr. Herman served as an Executive Officer and Director at Timberlands Holding Co No. 1, Inc. Prior to joining Rayonier, he served as a Vice President and General Counsel at GenTek Inc. (a publicly-traded global manufacturing conglomerate) from April 1999 to August 2003 and in other positions in GenTeks legal department from 1992 to August 2003. Mr. Herman served as the Vice President and General Counsel of General Chemical Corporation, subsidiary of GenTek Inc., from 1997 until April 1999. He was previously Counsel to IBM's Integrated Systems Solutions Corporation and an Associate with the law firm of Shearman & Sterling. Mr. Herman holds a J.D. degree from St. Johns University School of Law and a B.A. degree in Economics and English from Binghamton University.
