Executive Bio
Mr. Faraz Ali has been the Chief Business Officer of Regenxbio Inc. since February 2016. Mr. Ali served as the Head of Program Management, External Affairs & Commercial Development and Vice President at bluebird bio, Inc., since May 2011. At bluebird bio, he led all commercial planning efforts, including engagement with payers in the U.S. and Europe. Mr. Ali has more than sixteen years of healthcare experience. Mr. Ali provided significant early input into bluebird bio's portfolio strategy and provided critical cross-functional leadership during the its initial growth phase by establishing new functions, processes and external relationships. In 2011, Mr. Ali served as a Consultant to Third Rock Ventures, L.P. From 2001 to 2010, Mr. Ali held a number of positions at Genzyme, including Head/Senior Director of U.S. marketing and strategic planning of the personalized genetic health business unit from August 2006 to December 2010, where he led marketing functions for Cerezyme??, Fabrazyme??, Myozyme?? / Lumizyme?? and Aldurazyme??. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ali served in leadership roles at GE Healthcare. Mr. Ali is also Chair of the Reimbursement Committee at the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine where he is developing policy proposals for innovative reimbursement and financing models for potentially curative gene and cell therapies. Mr. Ali received his B.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
