We introduced a new camera feature with our latest Rhapsody App 5.4.500 on Android Phones. Rhapsody App uses the camera of an Android device to image a payment card which makes it easier for users to simply scan their Credit card and update their payment details rather than manually entering the card information while trying to sign up or update card payment details. This simply lets the users pay for Rhapsody by holding their credit card up to the phones camera. We brought this feature into Rhapsody App to speed up the process of inputting credit card numbers on the small screens of mobile devices, like smartphones. Instead of having to manually type in the digits using your phones keyboard when adding or modifying the payment details. We also use the camera to take a new photo for your profile page within the Rhapsody Application.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
When is the camera used, turned on? Camera is used/turned on based on user action. The user must click a button to activate the camera. It is only possible to activate the camera when updating on the Credit card form to shortcut having to enter credit card numbers or modifying your or when editing your profile and you wish to take a new photo for your profile.
When it is turned off?It gets turned off when the user completes the scan of the credit card or when the image is captured for your profile photo and uploaded to the server.
How is the data captured by the camera managed? This technology uses Optical Character Recognition to decode the Payment Card Numbers. The premise of the feature is to allow for an automated process to read the Payment Card numbers and to secure the data within an encrypted payload. Is the camera data stored locally only?No data is stored locally and the images are deleted from memory.
Is the data transmitted off the device? If so, where to? How long is it stored? How is the stored data used? The data is transmitted off the device to the payment form. The payment information is then used in the credit card processing and discarded. Only the last 4 digits of the credit card are then stored. For profile photos, it is stored on our server until the user replaces the photos with another photo.
If you still have any questions on Camera Permission, pleasecontact Customer Support and wewill be happy to answer any questions you may have on our services.

View ArticleRhapsody has millions of songs, but unfortunately we don't have everything. And we feel your pain, too.
While we work with artists and record companies to make as much music available as we can, ultimately the decisions for what we can and can't stream lie with those artists and record companies. Sometimes there are just delays on new music; other times, an artist decides to remove their music from streaming completely. An artist may decide not to give us their music, or a record company may removemusic thatwas once available. So you may see music occasionally come and go from our catalog. This is true for all digital music services, though we're happy to say we're still going steady with Taylor Swift.

To get your Sansa working again, you'll need to reset the Windows Media DRM on your computer, and reformat your Sansa.
Sorry this is required, but Microsoft forced us to move our Windows Media DRM server from Windows Server 2003 to 2008 and this has caused some client problems with the DRM.
Please try these steps to resolve it:
First, disconnect your MP3 player from the PC.
To remove the DRM folder on your computer:
Run "Command Prompt" as Administrator. (Start -> "Command Prompt", right-click, Run As Administrator.)
Type the following and press Enter: cd \ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows
Type the following and press Enter: attrib DRM (It should show something similar to: SH C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\DRM)
Type the following and press Enter: attrib -r -s -h DRM && rmdir /s /q DRM && attrib DRM
It should display: File not found - DRM (This means that the folder has been successfully deleted.)
Next, run the Rhapsody app. You should get a dialog to update Windows Media components. Click "Upgrade Now". When complete, click "Restart Now" to restart your computer.
While the computer is restarting, please use the MP3 player menus to reformat your device.
NOTE: this will erase everything on it.
After your computer restarts, don't reconnect the MP3 player yet. Run Rhapsody, and it may need to restore downloads (shown on the left). Please wait until that completes.
Then connect your MP3 player. When the device appears in Rhapsody, click on it and follow any steps shown. You should then be able to select the playlists or specific tracks that you want on the device. It should then be able to sync successfully.

While Rhapsody Premier costs $9.99/month when you pay Rhapsody directly by signing up through www.rhapsody.com, the price is $12.99/month when you pay through Apple by signing up on your iOS device - because Apple charges 30% on all payments made through iTunes. We feel your pain - and we want you to pay less! So here's how.
FAQ:
How can I get Rhapsody Premier for $9.99 per month? And can I get it for less than that?
Yes and yes! You have two options: monthly billing for $9.99, or annual plan billing which lowers the monthly price to $7.99. In both cases, those prices and plans are available if you set up your account to have us bill you directly - rather than billing through iTunes.
Instructions on how to set this up are below. First, you'll want to cancel your account in the Apple store - but don't worry, we'll hold on to all your favorites and playlists, so you'll have all your music waiting for you.
How do I get Rhapsody Premier for $7.99/month?
Once you've canceled your current iTunes billing (instructions below), sign up for an annual plan. Pay once per year - $95.90 - and your monthly rate drops to $7.99/month for all the music you can listen to. Not bad.
Why does it cost more to sign up for Rhapsody Premier when I buy it from Apple vs. Rhapsody?
Apple charges 30% on all payments made through iTunes. You can sign up for the Rhapsody Premier plan at $9.99 per month by entering your payment method information in My Account on Rhapsody, and cancelling your Apple subscription. Instructions are below.
How do I cancel my Rhapsody Premier subscription billed through Apple in order to get Rhapsody Premier for $9.99 or less per month?
By billing through Rhapsody, you can save at least $3.00 per month vs. the current price in the iOS store. By following the steps below, you can sign up for $9.99/month (or even less, if you opt for the annual plan ).
To cancel a subscription purchased through Apple, first please disable auto-renew for the subscription in iTunes. Here's how to do it (and for more details, please visit Apple's page onmanaging auto-renewing subscriptions here ):
1. Tap the App Store App on your iOS device2. Tap "Featured" and scroll to the very bottom3. Tap "Apple ID: [email protected]"4. Tap "View Account"5. Sign-in if prompted6. Tap "Manage" under "Subscriptions"7. Tap Rhapsody8. Slide Auto-Renewal to "Off"

The error codes are -505 or -504.

After investigation, it looks like Lollipop may be verifying app signature keys differently than before. So the app is downloading to the device, but it's not installing. This issue is also happening if a Lollipop user tries to install 4.16 fresh from the play store.
Users can try a few things to get out of this state.
1) If they still see the app icon after updating, they can tap it to open the 4.15 version of the app. They may see a message that says app not found but it may open on the second attempt. It may also crash on first launch, but subsequent attempts may succeed.
2) The user can reboot their phone while the Play store is displaying the Installing message, this will cause the phone to recheck the installed apps and clean them up. When this happens, you might see a message saying "Updating". If this completes, the app will be installed. Please note this method did not remedy the issue for all customers that attempted this route.
3) The user can try to uninstall the app and install the 4.15 version directly by clicking here
You will need to enable installation from unknown sources in order to download and install our app from this location. These steps will help you enable this feature:
Settings >> Security >> Check "Unknown Sources" >> Accept any pop-up that appears
Please Note:
Not all Android 5 users have this same experience. Google is aware of the issue and is investigating. We have no further information from them on work arounds or time lines.

Rhapsody continuously evaluates the best way to deliver high audio quality as efficiently as possible. Our mobile apps have the option of streamingGood (AAC+ 64 kb/s), Better (AAC 192 kb/s), and Best (AAC 320 kb/s). Tests show 64 kbps AAC+ is equivalent to 128 kbps MP3, yet requires only half the bandwidth to deliver. Home audio systems use 128 to 192 kbps AAC, depending on the device.PC client downloads in WMA 160 Kbps for offline listening.

View ArticleHow to Migrate Playlists Containing Local Media
You may notice that some of your playlists that contained local media files in Rhapsody 4 have not migrated over automatically in Rhapsody 6. This is because we're now using a song matching service to help build playlists, and no longer support local media files.
However, you can match the songs that you own. If you own digital music and its on your computer, you can use Rhapsodys CloudSync to match those songs in our catalogue. Try CloudSync from your Mac or PC at http://www.rhapsody.com/cloudsync.
The matching songs will appear in your Rhapsody Library without moving or altering the songs on your computer in any way. For any songs not matched because they are not in our catalog, please let us know at www.rhapsody.com/requests. We will do our best to add the missing tracks to our catalog, provided the artists and record companies have enabled the songs for streaming on Rhapsody.
