What do you like best about the leadership team?
Easily accessible and responsive group
They are constantly coming up with plans to make the work day safer and easier
Our leaders want the best for their employees. They understand that happy and comfortable employees will want to strive to bring the best for their position and overall work experience.
Invested in their employees that they feel have high potential
They know what they're doing most of the time.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Health and safety is not just talked about
Stop the special favors and run a business. Need more diversity in mid to upper level management
Promoting high potential employees / giving meaningful opportunities
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Pension used to be topped up more
Insurance is good compared to other employers
Very competitive compensation and benefit package
The benefits are actually really great! Everything you could need or want is provided and you will be compensated properly. Again, Ryerson really, truly cares about their employees.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Salary is not competitive in marketplace. That is main reason for high turnover rate.
All benefits have a caviat of terms and conditions on when and where
The culture is bad and rooted in old southern ways
I feel I am paid less doing the work that others do due to my younger age
What are some of the best things about your team?
They care about the final product going to the customer
Knowledge, teamwork, proactive , steady, friendly
My team is always on board to meet the daily demands while keeping each other in mind. We all strive to do our best but as a team! We understand we are in it together.

Learn to engage with positivity

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Our Regional employees are the best.
Friends throughot company and country. Really noce people
Nothing is positive. Always pushing us to the limit and expecting more
Simply comfortable. You always feel as though it’s your home away from home. Understanding of the work that needs to be done and effort to be put in to your daily routine but the level of comfort and appreciation exceeds expectation

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
More collaboration and inclusiveness would help.
Need to do better rewarding those that get the work done and not the ones who say they did the work when they didn’t
What did you like most about the interview process?
Again, comfortability. You are not slammed with questions but instead asked of your goals with yourself and the company. Ryerson wants you to grow with the understanding you are bringing your best to the table and along the way you will always feel greatly appreciated.

Having a good financially performing month.
Vacation time off and being with customers.
Getting orders out to the customers
The team. Working with a great group each and every day who are willing to help and grow right along with you is always a huge plus.

There is not room for growth
I’ve been told I am a high potential employee and that I need to get promoted for 7 months but have seen nothing

Faster movement on promotions and compensation
