What interview questions does San Diego Unified School District ask?
Top Employee Response
It all depends on the job you are going for. the good thing is that everyone is asked the same questions to make it fair on scoring the candidates.
What's the interview process like at San Diego Unified School District?
Top Employee Response
You submit your application online then they get back to you. That park takes forever it can take up to 2-6 months to get back to you by then you forgot about the job or already taken a position with someone else. After waiting then you have a ranking interview. Then after that you have another interview if you made it into the top 10 then they hire from that group. People working for the district have first priority at the job then people from the outside. It makes it really tough to get in if they have already someone doing the job in a temporary bases.
What part of San Diego Unified School District's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Food services is growing the fastest most people do not relize that the food service department is self sufficient and gets no money from the district and has to pay the district for the gas and electric that they use and pays for all the salaries that the employees get. I think the Teaching side is having the most trouble right now as they have lack of funds and their hands are tied so they can not get what they want done with all the rules and regulations that consume most of their time.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at San Diego Unified School District?
I would first off ensure that all staff has training from the Area superintendent to the 2 food service worker in the kitchen. I would would want to see that the district is right sized for the amount of money they have to the number of students served. Also I would want the board more to be more responsible on how things get done instead of worrying if they are going to piss off the unions especially the teachers union and worried about getting reelected. Make the right choice even if it is a tough choice. You can't make everyone happy all of the time just do what is right for the kids not the adults.
