Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I felt undervalued because my compensation didn’t reflect my workload, expertise, or the emotional labor required to exist as a woman of color in that environment. I was expected to go above and beyond without acknowledgment, while others were rewarded for simply maintaining the status quo.
Stronger base compensation would be great. We tend to run pretty lean and are VERY busy. I feel like base compensation doesn't always reflect the value of the talent.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Some teammates were kind but conflict-avoidant. We could've worked better together with more transparency, accountability, and courage to question leadership instead of protecting the status quo. Trust can’t grow in a culture of silence.
