Executive Bio
Ms. Jane A. Levine has been a Chief Global Compliance Counsel, Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs and Executive Vice President at Sotheby's since May 2016 and served as its Senior Vice President and Worldwide Director of Compliance since September 2006. Prior to joining Sotheby's, Ms. Levine was a Federal Prosecutor in the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, where she worked with the FBI's Art Crime Team. Her legal experience includes civil and commercial litigation. She also teaches a seminar at Columbia Law School on Art and Cultural Heritage Law. In 2011, Ms. Levine was appointed by President Obama to serve as a Member of the President's Cultural Property Advisory Committee. Ms. Levine enjoys writing and speaking publicly about art and cultural heritage law. She received a B.A. from Brown University and her J.D. from New York University School of Law.
