Mr. John F. Windley has been President of South State Bank and has been its Chief Executive Officer since March 17, 2016. Mr. Windley serves as Chief Banking Officer of South State Corporation. Mr. Windley served as Executive Vice President of SCBT National Association. He served as an Executive Vice President and Division Head of Upstate, Midlands and Beaufort Regions of SCBT Financial Corp. He served as the President of South Carolina Bank and Trust of the Piedmont, National Association since March 2006. He served as Division Head of Scbt South Carolina Bank and Trust at SCBT Financial Corp. He joined SCBT in 2002 as Senior Vice President to launch SCBT's Greenville initiative. Later, he was promoted to the division head where he ran four regions of SCBT across South Carolina as well as SCBT's Wealth Management Group. He has a 28-year banking career with Bank of America and predecessor organizations. He served as the corporate Chairman for the Walk to Cure Diabetes. He serves as board member for the United Way of Greenville and the Blue Ridge Council of Boy Scouts. An active member of the community, Mr. Windley is a Member of the Greenville Forum. Mr. Windley earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wofford College and is a graduate of Louisiana State University Banking School of the South.
