Executive Bio

Mr. John Trainer has been an Executive Vice President and Managing Director of American-Liberty Spirits & Wine Division at Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, LLC (formerly Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc.) since July 2016. Mr. Trainer served as an Executive Vice President and General Manager of American Liberty Wine & Spirits at Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, LLC since July 1, 2014. Mr. Trainer served as Vice President and General Manager of Control States Division of Pernod Ricard USA, LLC. He started in the wine and spirits industry at Heublein, Inc. in 1995. Throughout his 18-year career, he worked across open, control, franchise and chain markets. He served a commercial strategy and operations role as National Director, Sales & Operations at PR USA headquarters from 2008 to 2009. He also led a Route-to-Market (RTM) Reengineering Initiative for Heublein from 2011 to 2012. He is a graduate of the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut.
