Gil Melman — VP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Spark Energy

Mr. Gil M. Melman has been Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Spark Energy, Inc. and Spark Energy L.P. since February 2014. Mr. Melman is a Principal at Redstone Capital Partners. He served as General Counsel of Madagascar Oil Limited from August 2008 to October 2013. He acted as general counsel and in-house counsel to several energy companies and a regional private equity fund. He practiced law at Vinson & Elkins LLP from 1993 to 1999 in the Corporate Securities Group and then at Enron for over three years. At Vinson & Elkins LLP, he represented public and private companies, investment funds and investment banking firms in numerous mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions, primarily in the energy industry. Mr. Melman's areas of expertise include securities law and capital markets transactions, corporate and partnership law, venture capital and financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions. Mr. Melman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law.
