Jennifer Wellman M.S. — Co-Founder and Head of Regulatory Strategy at Spark Therapeutics

Ms. Jennifer Wellman, also known as Jen, M.S. is a Co-Founder of Spark Therapeutics, Inc. Ms. Wellman has been the Head of Regulatory Strategy at Spark Therapeutics, Inc. (a/k/a, Spark Therapeutics, LLC) and also served as its Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Ms. Wellman has 13 years of R&D and regulatory experience specifically related to adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated gene therapy and has spent the past eight years at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Therapeutics at The Children's Hospital of Philidelphia where she directed regulatory interactions for the Center's gene therapy studies. She also performed clinical study site management for these international trials. She is well versed not only in federal, local and institutional regulatory issues and clinical trial methodology, but also has hands-on knowledge of the research studies used to support clinical testing and of product manufacturing from her previous role as associate scientist at Avigen, Inc. She received her B.S. in microbiology and immunology from Queen's University and her M.S. from the University of New Haven.
