Mr. Robert M. Thomas Jr., is employed at Sullivan & Cromwell in the position of Partner since March 2005. He has been a partner since 1975 and has wide ranging experience in international capital markets, project finance and M&A transactions. Most recently based in Sullivan & Cromwell's New York office, he was head of Sullivan & Cromwell's London office from 1979 to 1982 and managing partner of the firm's general practice group, including corporate, capital markets, M&A, real estate and financial institutions, from 1985 to 1991. Mr. Thomas graduated from the University of Kansas in 1962 and Harvard Law School in 1966. Thomas's capital markets practice includes hundreds of transactions in the public and private markets. He has acted for issuers or underwriters in Asia, Australasia, Latin America, Africa and Europe, as well as in the U.S. In project finance he has been in charge of large oil and gas projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Thomas has also been involved in domestic and foreign M&A transactions.
