Mr. Stephen M. Kotran is a Partner at Sullivan & Cromwell. Mr. Kotran joined Sullivan & Cromwell in 1992. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Kotran was a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Daniel P. Moynihan. Mr. Kotran has represented participants and financial advisors involved in transactions, including negotiated and hostile acquisitions of public companies, negotiated sales of private companies, subsidiaries and divisions, management buy-outs and leveraged buy-outs, formation of joint ventures, and asset sales. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Practical Law Company, Inc. At University of Virginia School of Law, he was an Editor of the Virginia Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law. He received his JD from the University of Virginia and AB from the Harvard University.
