Executive Bio

Mr. Daniel Miller, also known as Dan, has been Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Sales, Services and Support at Tableau Software, Inc. since February 13, 2017. Mr. Miller served as Senior Vice President of Industries, Solutions & Partners at Juniper Networks, Inc. Mr. Miller leads go-to-market strategies for vertical markets and also leads the worldwide partner and alliances of Juniper Networks. He has nearly 30 years of domestic and international sales and general management leadership experience across a variety of industries and channels. Prior to joining Juniper in 2011, he served as Vice President and Field General Manager for Hewlett-Packard. He served as Senior Vice President of Global Systems Practice at Oracle America, Inc. (alternate name, Sun Microsystems Inc.). Mr. Miller was responsible for driving worldwide sales of Sun's systems products, representing approximately 50% of SMI revenue. Since joining Sun 18 years ago, he has held a number of senior sales, business development and management positions. He served as GEM President in Japan, the second largest IT market in the world, where he oversaw all aspects of business operations. Mr. Miller served several leadership roles in the Global Sales Organization including Vice President of the U.S. Telecommunications Market Area, Vice President of the Global Service Provider Strategy Group, Director of Telco Sales for the U.S. Western Market and Director of the Reseller Channel organization. He served as President and Chairman of Sun Japan from 2003 to 2006 where he was based and worked extensively in international markets. Throughout his career at Sun, Mr. Miller has offered his leadership and expertise to a number of cross-functional SMI initiatives including Sun's Global Field Compensation Committee, Coverage Committee, Leadership Council and IT Sourcing Council. Before joining Sun, Mr. Miller started his IT career at NBI, Inc., a Colorado-based computer systems company, where he held a variety of Product Marketing, Sales and Management positions. In 2000, he received the prestigious Leadership Award recognizing his outstanding leadership abilities and contributions to Sun's Service Provider strategy. Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado with emphasis in Information Systems and Marketing.
