Tableau has standard big tech company health insurance, so it's pretty good. All the typical things are there (medical, dental, medical leave). They have a lower match on the 401k that most other companies, and you can't double up like some companies allow, where you can put 48k away a year.

  • 401k match, healthcare/vision/dental, ESPP, transit subsidy, 3 weeks PTO, 2 weeks sick leave

  • Health insurance is better than any policy I have ever seen, and I was in HR for years! their Dental is also better. The Short Term Disability isn't as good as most, but the Long Term Disability is standard. The 401(K) match isn't good, but they allow a lot to be deferred into an HSA. Vacation is 3 weeks, and they have a generous maternity/paternity leave. Overall, benefits package is one of the best I've ever seen.

  • The company culture at Tableau is good, but a mixture. They generally respect people, and generally avoid putting people onto death marches. Company values including encouraging open communication - people sometimes question how well this is repected, because discussing problems openly is not always welcome. A great company value is that people in the company should use the product. Tableau is a pretty complex system and you do need to invest some time in learning how to use it. The company is in transition, where the previous years very fast growth has slowed, and there is new competition, they are still figuring out what they want to be when they grow up, switching to a monthly licensing strategy.
