Patrick Hanrahan Ph.D. — Co-Founder, Chief Scientist and Director at Tableau Software

Dr. Patrick Hanrahan, also known as Pat, Ph. D. co-founded Tableau Software, Inc. in 2003 and has been its Chief Scientist since 2003. Dr. Hanrahan served as the Chief Technology Officer of Tableau Software. He Co-Founded PeakStream Inc., in 2005. Dr. Hanrahan serves as a Technical Advisor at VSee Lab, Inc. He served as a Founding Employee of Pixar, where he served as the Chief Architect of the RenderMan' Interface - a protocol that has revolutionized the modern graphics and entertainment industries. Dr. Hanrahan is also the CANON USA Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Prior to Pixar, he directed the 3D computer graphics group in the Computer Graphics Laboratory at New York Institute of Technology. He has been a Director of Tableau Software, Inc. since January 2003. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Procedural Inc. He serves as a Member of Technical Advisory Board at Skytree, Inc. He serves as a Member of National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Hanrahan is the winner of an Academy Award for Science and Technology, the Spirit of America Creativity Award, the SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Achievement Award and the SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Hanrahan holds PhD degree from University of Wisconsin - Madison in Biophysics and BS degree from University of Wisconsin - Madison.
