Dr. Martin H. Huber Jr., M.D., has been Vice President of Clinical Development at Taxolog, Inc. since September 2005. Dr. Huber has been Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Tesaro, Inc. since September 21, 2015. Dr. Huber served as Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Global Pharmacovigilance at Schering-Plough Research Institute (SPRI). Dr. Huber served as Vice President of Oncology Clinical Research, at Merck Research Laboratories. Prior to Merck he served in roles of increasing responsibility at Schering-Plough, Hoffmann-La Roche. and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, where he led teams in the areas of oncology clinical development, drug safety and pharmacovigilance. He has over 20 years of leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. He was employed by Rhone-Poulenc Rorer in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, as Associate Director of Oncology for Clinical Research and Development. In 1996, he joined Hoffmann-LaRoche, Inc., where he worked for the next nine years. He began as the Clinical Director of Clinical Sciences, but quickly rose through the ranks to become the Vice President for Global Drug Safety. As Vice President at Hoffmann-LaRoche, he oversaw more than 200 employees with responsibilities for all aspects of clinical drug safety. Dr. Huber has served as Vice President of Global Pharmacovigilance, since joining Schering-Plough in July 2006. He has played a key role in the development of a globally-aligned organization for Global Pharmacovigilance as part of Schering-Plough's Global Clinical Harmonization program and on the design and rollout of a rigorous computerized system for the collection, tracking and reporting of drug safety information. He also serves on Schering-Plough's Safety Review Board. He interacts on product-related issues with health authorities and professional societies, manage medical aspects of litigation issues and work with medical directors from country operations on risk management and product-specific issues. He worked in a medical oncology fellowship at the University of Texas' M.D. Anderson Cancer Center until 1992, following which he served as an instructor and soon thereafter, an Assistant Professor for their Department of Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology until 1994. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Huber received an M.D. degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1987 and a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Lutheran College in 1980. He completed an internal medicine residency in 1990.
