Mr. Michael S. Chae, J.D. serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group L.P. and served as its International Private Equity Head until August 7, 2015 and Head of Private Equity for Asia-Pacific Region from December 2010 to August 7, 2015. Mr. Chae has management responsibility over the firm's global finance, treasury, technology and corporate development functions. Since joining the firm in 1997, he oversaw private equity investments in various sectors. Mr. Chae led or was involved in numerous firms' investments over that time period. Previously, he worked at the Carlyle Group, L.P. and prior to that at Dillon, Read & Co. Mr. Chae has served on numerous boards of private and publicly traded portfolio companies. He is a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Lawrenceville School and a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Board of Trustees of the Asia Society. He is a Member of Park Advisory Board of Universal City Florida Holding Co. I. Mr. Chae graduated with B.A., Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College, received an M.Phil. in Philosophy and International Relations from Cambridge University and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
