The Ticket Fairy's Frequently Asked Questions page is a central hub where its customers can always go to with their most common questions. These are the 42 most popular questions The Ticket Fairy receives.
So you were able to get a few friends to join you at an event, and were wondering at what point you'll get back that percentage of your ticket cost that you read about?
You should receive system confirmation via email of any/all successful purchases made using your link; keep in mind that to not have received an email doesn't necessarily mean you've been unsuccessful however! We usually issue referral rebates a couple of weeks post show date, once all number-crunching and business-type things are all wrapped up. In some cases, however, it can be a little longer. You can rest assured that any referrals you have made have been tracked and that your rebate, if eligible, will be with you in due course. There is nothing further for you to do at your end other than wait for your funds to arrive. You'll be notified by email once these have been issued also. Funds go back to the account the initial purchase payment came from.
The price paid doesn't change dynamically, in any case we simply adjust your rebate tier accordingly. Since rebates are only issued after the event has taken place, it'd actually be misleading/inaccurate to adjust the number value of the price paid.

Simply put, you're one of the event attendees that's been most successful in encouraging friends/family etc to also buy a ticket to the event! So well done, your work is very much appreciated. In addition to the rebate we told you about you now get a warm and fuzzy feeling to walk around with for the rest of the day, and bragging rights if you're that way inclined.
View ArticleAre you attempting access via Facebook login? Or perhaps you’re not, but should be? Tickets not showing up after successfully logging in is exactly what happens when the 'wrong' login method is used, so to speak so whichever one you've tried thus far, please now do the opposite and advise us of your findings if neither prove successful.
Another suggestion is that if, after purchasing your ticket, you've allowed a friend/family member etc to purchase a ticket on the same phone/computer you did, your account details may well have been overwritten on our system by these 'updated' details if you were still logged in at the time. We'll let you know if that ends up being the case once you get in touch, and will of course get it sorted for you if need be!
View ArticleTicket Fairy's official Resale System can be used to safely and securely sell unwanted tickets for events that have enabled resales. We strongly advise all sales to be initiated only via the resale system whenever available.
Resales are enabled by the event's organisers. Not all events allow resales. Those that do may only allow them for a period of time. All of the following instructions are undertaken by selecting your order from the My Tickets section of your Ticket Fairy account.
If you can see a 'Sell Ticket' button within your order, then secure resales within our system are active/available for that event. After pressing the button you potentially have two options when placing your ticket up for resale. Option one, the more common one, is to make your ticket available to a specific person, someone you know or simply wish to sell to. You'll need just their name and email address; they don't need to have a Ticket Fairy account of their own. Once you've entered those details online, our system sends this person an email invitation to offer them your ticket, including information regarding the type of ticket, cost, and a time-window within which it'll be available to buy. If they go through with the purchase, making their payment via card just as you did, your ticket will be completely cancelled and invalidated (even if you'd already printed or downloaded a copy), you’ll be refunded back to the account linked with your original payment card (typically within ten working days), and a new ticket will be issued to the buyer in a name they choose, even if it had previously been name-changed. If you have used social media or any other platform to advertise your ticket(s) for sale and have found a buyer, the next step would be to take an email address from them and initiate the sale through the resale system, andnot to sell privately.
Option two is for your ticket to be offered to a Waiting List, which is comprised of those unable to secure tickets before they sold out. Waiting List tickets are offered to customers on a first-come-first-served basis. Our system automatically matches buyer with seller according to their specific requests submitted when joining the Waiting List. If a ticket is not sold, it means that there isn't a 'match', or all Waiting List customers have been served by other ticket holders who've also placed their ticket(s) for sale; a ticket submitted to a Waiting List can never be guaranteed to be sold. Option one will only be available once the event sells out and if the event organiser has enabled a Waiting List.
If you are considering selling your ticket(s), you are strongly advised to only do so via the official Ticket Fairy resale system, as we do not operate in conjunction/co-operation with ANY other website eg Tixel, Viagogo, TradeMe etc. Ticket Fairy tickets are otherwise non-transferable and the purchaser could be denied entry to the event without refund if not sold the approved way. Tickets may only be sold individually/one at a time. Please also note that tickets may only be resold at the price paid and, depending on the event, you may also incur a resale/transfer fee, if set by the event organiser. The fee will be shown before you confirm and cannot be passed on to the purchaser. Finally, ticket resales include all relevant add-ons along with it; any/all such purchases will also be sold by default in the same transaction unless sold separately ahead of time, since an add-on without an event ticket is no good to anyone!
To summarise, as we appreciate that was a lot of info:
1. Log in to your Ticket Fairy account
2. Select the event you would like to sell the ticket for, under My Tickets
3. Click on the 'Sell Ticket' button
4. Select the option that applies to you, either 'I want to sell my ticket to someone I know' or
'I will sell my ticket to anyone who wants to buy it' (NB: this second option may not be available, as it requires the event to already be sold out and an active Waiting List)
5. Enter your buyer's full name and email address (only if you chose the first option from Step 4)
6. Read and agree to the terms of resale and hit confirm!
If/once your ticket is sold, you'll be notified via email and your refund automatically processed back via the original payment method.
View ArticleNo, this is not possible. As a refund is in effect a reversal of a payment, it is not possible to alter which account it goes back to. Upon a refund being triggered, the transaction is simply reversed, which means it automatically goes back into the account it came from. For this reason, it is not something we can manually alter.
In cases where cards are cancelled, the bank or card issuer is responsible for ensuring any refunds that arrive following cancellation are credited to the customer. All cards are linked to an account and it is the account that gets credited. Where the account no longer exists, the bank or card issuer has protocols in place to have the funds forwarded to the previous account holder.
Refunds can only ever be sent to the card used to make payment. Once the funds arrive at your bank, they are responsible for ensuring they are returned to you, and they also have the relevant personal information for contacting you or account information if you continue to be a customer but with a different account. If you cannot see your refund after 10 working days of it being issued to you, please speak to your bank and they'll be able to locate your funds for you.
View ArticleA lot of the events we work with will use a tiered system for their tickets. This might look something like:
Early Bird
General Admission
Final Release
...or a variant of that theme. These tickets are functionally identical in every way except price the second tier (General Admission, in this case) is priced higher than the previous one, the third (Final Release) again higher than the second etc, and in most cases only become available once the previous tier's allocation is completely sold. The thinking is that would-be attendees are incentivised to commit to an event sooner rather than later by being offered a ticket at the lowest possible price. It also gives a sense of how popular the event is, as over time the sales move through the tiers and people get an idea of how close the event is to completely selling out (and therefore making sure they get one in time), without ever having a number figure shown to them.
Another potential difference in ticket price might be due to additional offers/perks, and as such might be named 'Premium', 'Gold', 'VIP' or other such things. On the event page, just to the right of a ticket's price you may see a small 'i' hover over it and you'll see a little information about that specific type.
View ArticleWe are happy to offer assistance and support for all customers we’ve sold tickets/products to directly. We strongly discourage private/third party sales unless done via Ticket Fairy’s official Resale System, since there is no way for us to verify the security or legitimacy of a sale that is not regulated by us. Proceed entirely at your own risk.
Unfortunately, if you have already purchased a ticket privately outside of our resale system, we will not be able to offer you support for this and you will need to contact the seller directly. We cannot take responsibility for any private/third party sales made outside of our resale system and it’s exclusively the seller’s duty to make good on whatever agreement you came to between yourselves.
As a buyer that has bought a resale ticket, you will receive an email invitation (system-generated, from a Ticket Fairy email address) to purchase a ticket. This email will have a brief overview of exactly what's on offer, the price, and a link to click to buy. Payment details are taken there and then via our secure website, and upon completion you are emailed an Order Confirmation email with a ticket that is functionally identical to all others we've sold for that event, along with a Ticket Fairy account being created for you under the specified email address. This ticket will now be in your Ticket Fairy account to make amendments, purchase add-ons, or even resell once again. If this didn't happen for you, your purchase was not official.
Frequently Asked Questions include:
"So we got this ticket from [insert 3rd party website here] and need the name changed on it, can you help?"
"The guy/girl that sold us this said that you'd change the name for us?"
"Just wanted to check that this ticket was legit/definitely changed to my name?"
"The person that agreed to sell me a ticket has gone quiet on me, are you able to contact them?"
"After buying this ticket plans have changed and it needs to be sold again, I don't have the seller's details any more... what can we do?"
"We got back in touch with the seller and they said they can't do another name change - can you reverse this for us, or allow us to do one more?"
"Since buying this second-hand ticket the show has been cancelled - can we get a refund off you?"
We're unable to help with any of those written above, nor anything similar to those. A ticket bought from someone else makes you their customer rather than one of ours.
So, to be clear:
If you arranged for a ticket to be changed into your name and had it emailed to you after paying for it privately, the ticket remains in the seller’s Ticket Fairy account, as a sale outside of the resale system does not transfer ownership of the ticket to the buyer. The ticket is still the seller’s property, irrespective of it now being in your name. Any amendments can only be made by the person whose account the ticket is in, in the scenario of a private sale such as this, this will be the seller, not you as a private buyer. Your seller cannot change the name on the ticket again if you can now no longer attend, and nor can we. If this happens, your seller must officially sell their ticket through our resale system if they don't wish to keep it, or someone else wants it. This involves us taking a payment from the new buyer and the seller being refunded, so if you paid your seller privately you'll also need to think about getting your money back.
We do understand and completely sympathise with you, if you have found yourself in this type of unfortunate situation and are sorry we can't do any more for you. We want to make sure our buyers and sellers are protected. To help us help you and to stop people misusing our system, please ensure you only buy and sell tickets through the resale system.

The Ticket Fairy Resale System allows you to resell your tickets if you can no longer attend, safely, securely and hassle-free.
As a seller:
When you sell a ticket via the resale system, your ticket will be cancelled, you will receive a full refund and the buyer will receive a new ticket directly into their Ticket Fairy account. You no longer own the ticket and it will no longer be in your account. Provided the event has enabled resales, you can place your ticket up for resale via your Ticket Fairy account. Full instructions on how to do this can be found here. If/when your ticket has been purchased, you'll receive an email confirming the sale and your refund will be automatically triggered back to your original method of payment.Event dependant, you may incur a resale fee, if one is set by the event organiser. The fee will be shown before you agree to the terms of resale and cannot be passed on to the purchaser. You will be refunded the amount you paid, less the resale fee, if one is set.
As a buyer:
If you have signed up to an event's Waiting List, or have had a seller made a ticket available to you for purchase, you will receive an email invitation (system-generated, from a Ticket Fairy email address) to purchase a ticket. There'll be a brief overview of exactly what's on offer, the price, and a link to click to buy.
Ticket resales include all relevant add-ons along with it; any add-ons that are assigned to a ticket will also be sold by default in the same transaction unless sold separately ahead of time, since an add-on alone without an event ticket is no good to anyone!Tickets may only be sold individually/one at a time.
The only way to transfer ownership of a ticket is when it is bought/sold via our resale system. We strongly advise against private/third-party sales and for our buyers' and sellers' protection, advise all resales to be initiated only via the resale system.

What can I do?

So, to (re)download your tickets, simply log in to your Ticket Fairy account and find your orders in My Tickets. Should you have forgotten your password, it can be reset from here:

NB: Typing in an email address incorrectly when buying a ticket is another common reason for passwords not resetting, inability to log in, and not having received tickets in the first place; we may need more info from you about your purchase if the above instructions don’t yield a positive outcome.
View ArticleAllow us to leave a few pointers, which will better help us to help you:
The more information you can provide in your first message to us, the easier it is for us to help. Explain with as much clarity and detail as possible what it is you need from us, and we'll set about helping as best we can; less back and forth emails = faster resolution. Please don’t send screenshots or attach tickets unless asked to (when looking things up, it’s easier if we can copy/paste info from the email body rather than download/manually read files). Your six/seven-digit Order Number is great if you know it; your Ticket ID is the next best thing after that. Thereafter, we of course need the exact name of the event, but feel free to also inform us of:
Names on the tickets
How many tickets within the order
Type of ticket (early bird, first release etc)
Duration of validity (1 day pass, 2 day etc)
Extras (camping, buses, after party etc) ...as they can help narrow down a search considerably. Likely email addresses used for purchase are useful too, since people often first write in from Facebook or Twitter.
If your message pertains to a website issue rather than a ticket one however, then of course screenshots are very helpful indeed! Please be as descriptive of the difficulty you're experiencing as possible, with a clear sense of when it is things don't go the way you're expecting them to. For example, if you think you input the wrong email address at any point, tell us the 'wrong' one as well as the intended one. "Not working", "can't log in" etc are less than ideal starting points for us, in isolation.
A message sent isn’t always a message read. We endeavour to respond to all messages within 48 hours, but at times it can take longer. Words like "urgent" and "ASAP" in subject lines are of limited use, since we typically respond to messages in the order they are sent to us, but ALL messages are replied to as soon as we possibly can.
Please send only ONE message; multiple emails open multiple Support tickets, and merging them (which we'll do so as to keep all information/communication in one place) slows down our response times. As an extension of that, writing in over multiple mediums might seem like a good idea at the time, but again only slows us down. So emailing, then DMing on Twitter, then Facebook messaging... we'd be grateful if you didn't do that, thanks! Also writing in on behalf of a friend or partner is often counter-productive, especially if you don't supply their name; it's always better if people write in about their own specific queries.
Please NEVER send us credit card details, for yourself nor anyone else. Anything other than the last 4 digits of the card is both an un-necessary risk and information that we can't actually use in Support.
A lot of the specifics related to an event are likely to be unknown to us. So bear that in mind if you're about to write in asking how far away the car park is from the venue, whether barbecues are permitted on the campsite, what provisions are in place for disability access etc... as the ticketing partner, all we can do with those queries is attempt to re-direct you to those that should know better than us!

In the majority of cases, this is because you purchased your ticket using Facebook login. If you do not currently see one/either of these, it's because they have not been enabled by the event organisers at that time. Sometime these options are turned on closer to the event, in which case periodically checking your Ticket Fairy account will show this. In cases where one/either of these options are not made available, feel free to reach out to us or the event organisers directly on whether these options will be made available at some stage.
View ArticleIt's likely what you've seen was merely an authorisation for the payment, meaning it's been approved by the bank, but perhaps shows as 'pending' or 'held' because the merchant in this case, the payment processor on behalf of the event organiser hasn't claimed the funds. So the bank deducts that money from the account for the merchant to claim, and if not claimed (which it won't be, as it's either immediate or not at all), the funds are released back to you, usually in a day or two. Please also note that such charges could comprise additional single unit charges of your payment currency e.g. one Dollar, one Pound, one Euro etc these too will ultimately be returned to you.

In either case, you will be sent an Order Confirmation email immediately after completing your purchase, which will have a section showing the check-in information on how your tickets will be delivered to you.

Simply log in to your Ticket Fairy account and locate your order in My Tickets. Click on 'Details'.
Next, click on the 'Get Add-On' button (within orders comprising multiple tickets, there'll be one of these buttons for every ticket), and any upgrades or add-ons available to you will be shown there; select that which is of interest and follow the prompts thereafter. If you don't see an option to add an upgrade to your order, it means that the event you have tickets for doesn't offer upgrades or add-ons.
View ArticlePopular events sell out all their tickets, and the even more popular ones have plenty of people who'd like to buy tickets even after the event has sold out. For these times, there are Waiting Lists. Not all events have them, but for the ones that do, they work as follows:
1) They offer advance/priority tickets to all signees, should any additional releases be made available.
2) They offer signees a chance to purchase tickets from those later unable to attend the event for whatever reason.
To expand a little on #2, tickets that customers wish to sell on don't ever get added to the main inventory. People sometimes go back to the event page expecting to see tickets available there again, but that's not how it works here, since both we and the event organisers want those tickets to go to those who want them most; signing up to be in with a second chance at securing a ticket is a good indicator of this, in our view!
So... the sign up process is simply a matter of going back to the event page on our site where the tickets were originally being sold, providing a name and email, as well as how many tickets are wanted, and which kind (where applicable). Details are logged on the system and any/all offers are made on a 'first come, first served' basis, so the sooner you sign up the more likely you are to get what you're after. If/when an offer comes up that matches your stipulated needs it'll be offered to you, subject to names before yours on the list wanting the exact same thing and having declined it/them. So if you'd opted for, say, two 3-day festival tickets, you wouldn't be offered just one ticket, nor three, nor any quantity of 1-day tickets, and so on. This offer comes in the form of an email from us, with a brief outline of the ticket details, type and total price this is your invitation to buy. Clicking through brings up a page to take payment, and only moments after completion the ticket is yours. In your name, in your shiny new account on our website, second hand yet (literally) as good as new. There's no traceability back to your seller thereafter either. This process is completely automated. Customer Support can't tell anyone where they are 'in the queue', nor can they move anyone up or down (on request nor otherwise), nor amend the number of tickets requested at sign-up time.
And for the ones that don't? One can always sell to/buy from a specific person. What's needed is just a name and email address; it's not necessary for the would-be buyer to have a Ticket Fairy account of their own. Once these have been put into the system, it'll send this person an email invitation to offer them the ticket, including info regarding the type of ticket, cost (they can only be sold at face value), and a time-window within which it'll be available to buy. If they click the link within the invitation, submit card details and go through with the purchase, the seller's ticket will be completely cancelled and invalidated (even if they'd already printed a copy or changed the name on it); they’ll be refunded back to their original payment card, and a whole new ticket will be issued to the buyer in their name.
