What is DeNoise AI?
DeNoise AI uses machine-learning to remove noise from your image while preserving detail for a crisp, clear result. Whether you are shooting with High ISO or in a low light scenario, DeNoise will correct your image without removing any important information or patterns in your image. DeNoise can be launched as a standalone application or as a plugin.
What should I use DeNoise AI for?
Noise is most commonly found in images that use a high ISO or are taken in low-light conditions. However, noise can also be found in all sorts of image conditions, so a great noise removal application is an essential tool to have in every photographer's toolbox.
What file types and color profiles are supported by DeNoise AI?
Supported files types:
.png
.tiff
.jpeg
DeNoise AI supports all major RBG color profiles. It does not support CMYK at this time.
What do the sliders within DeNoise AI do?
Remove Noise: Determines exactly how much noise DeNoise AI should try to remove from the image.
Enhance Sharpness:Sharpens the details in your image. Removing noise can sometimes soften the details in images, this allows you to retain that sharpness after processing your image.
Recover Details:Allows you to refine detail to the image to achieve a more realistic look if it appears that DeNoise AI has over-corrected the image.
When should I use DeNoise AI in my workflow?
For the best results, you should use DeNoise AI at the very beginning of your editing process. We've found removing noise as a first step is not only beneficial for the workflow that comes after, but also because removing noise after most of the editing process is completed may deliver unexpected results as it tries to process the various edits adjustments in your image.
Can DeNoise AI be used as a plug-in?
DeNoise AI can be used as both a plug-in and as a standalone app. We offer guides on how to use DeNoise AI alongside some of the more popular host editors:
Adobe Photoshop: Using Your Topaz Labs Plug-ins
Adobe Photoshop Elements: Using Your Topaz Labs Plug-ins
Adobe Lightroom: Using Your Topaz Labs Plug-ins
Serif Affinity Photo: Using Your Topaz Labs Plug-ins
Capture One: Using Your Topaz Labs Plug-ins
ON1 Photo RAW: Using Your Topaz Labs Plug-ins
Skylum Luminar: Using Your Topaz Labs Plug-ins
Corel PaintShop Pro: Using Your Topaz Labs Plug-ins
How does batch processing work?
Batch processing is available on multiple images with the standalone applications and the Lightroom plugin. To batch process a set of images, simply select all of the images you wish to process when first opening an image (Or if you already have an image open in DeNoise AI, head to File/DeNoise AI menu and select Open Images...). Once your images are loaded, you can make your edits as you please to whichever one you have selected.
Click here to contact our Support Team for assistance.
Once you've edited your images, use the boxes to the left of each image's name to select which ones you would like to process, then hit the Process button to begin the batch process. Please note that all of your images will be rendered using the settings used for the most recent image you've edited.
DeNoise AI is running a little slow, how can I speed it up?
Head to your Preferences menu under File (on Windows) or DeNoise AI (on Mac). Hit Advanced Preferences, then click the Reset button:
Upon doing so, your next image render will be used to calibrate your app's setting to best fit your computer's specs. You should see a noticeable speed increase for ensuing image renders.
What's the difference between DeNoise AI's sharpening and Sharpen AI's?
DeNoise AI uses AI algorithms specifically made for digital noise removal. Its sharpening functionality is used primarily to smooth out any artifacts created during the process, and aren't nearly as advanced as Sharpen AI, whose AI algorithms are custom built for focusing images.
My preview keeps recalculating every time I change a setting! How do I stop that?
We have included a tool that allows you to choose when your preview image is processed. Select "No" for the option "Automatically Update Preview." After this, just click the "Update Preview" button to re-process the image.
Can I try DeNoise AI before buying it?
First, if you are new to Topaz Labs, create an account on the Topaz Labs My Account Page. Next, simply download DeNoise AI from the Topaz Labs Downloads Page, login using your account information, and select "Start Trial" to begin your free 30-day trial.

OpenGL
OpenGL (Open Graphics Library) is the computer industry's standard application program interface ( API ) for defining 2-D and 3-D graphic images. Prior to OpenGL, any company developing a graphical application typically had to rewrite the graphics part of it for each operating system platform and had to be cognizant of the graphics hardware as well. With OpenGL, an application can create the same effects in any operating system using any OpenGL-adhering graphics adapter.
OpenGL specifies a set of "commands" or immediately executed functions. Each command directs a drawing action or causes special effects. A list of these commands can be created for repetitive effects. OpenGL is independent of the windowing characteristics of each operating system but provides special "glue" routines for each operating system that enable OpenGL to work in that system's windowing environment. OpenGL comes with a large number of built-in capabilities requestable through the API. These include hidden surface removal, alpha blending (transparency), antialiasing, texture mapping, pixel operations, viewing and modeling transformations, and atmospheric effects (fog, smoke, and haze).

When upgrading to version 2.0 of DeNoise AI, you may encounter an issue where DeNoise AI is unable to be launched from within Studio 2. This is caused by a conflicting plug-in file. For Windows users, this can be resolved by following these steps:
1. Open an Explorer Window using Windows key + E
2. Navigate to the DeNoise AI plugin directory
(Default path is C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz DeNoise AI\PS_Plugins_x64)
3. Copy the file named tltopazdenoiseaips_x64.8bf using CTRL + C
- Optional: Delete the file named tltopazdenoiseaibetaps_x64.8bf as it will crash Studio 2 if you aren't using the beta version.
4. Open another Explorer window using Windows Key + E
5. Navigate tothe Studio 2 plugin directory (Default path is C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Studio 2\PS_Plugins_x64)
You will now have two Explorer windows open and it will look like this:
6. Copy tltopazdenoiseaips_x64.8bf from the Denoise plugin folder (your first window) to the Studio 2 plugin directory (your second window) and overwrite the previous plugin if it's there.
(Default path is C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Studio 2\PS_Plugins_x64)
7. Go to your top Explorer window. Go up one directory so that you are looking at theC:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz DeNoise AI folder
8. copy both PS_Pluginsfoldersby selecting PS_Plugins and PS_Plugins_x64 and using CTRL + C
9. In the bottom Window go to: C:\Program Files\
10. If there is not already one there, create a folder named Topaz Labs
11. Go inside the Topaz Labs folder so that you are insideC:\Program Files\Topaz Labs
12. If there is not already one there, create a folder named Topaz DeNoise AI
13. Go inside the Topaz DeNoise AI folder
14. Paste both the two PS_Plugins folders (PS_Plugins and PS_Plugins_x64)
If there is a folder with that name in the directory, overwrite the existing content of the PS_Plugins folders.
15. Open Studio 2 to confirm that the problem has gone away
You are basically copying the plugin files to an old location as a workaround.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience and a fix for this will be deployed in the next DeNoise release from Topaz Labs.
Mac:
1. Open a Finder window
2. Hold down CMD + SHIFT + G to bring up the go to panel.
3. Paste the path: /Applications/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz DeNoise AI and hit the Go button
4. Open another Finder window using CMD + N
5. Hold down CMD + SHIFT + G to bring up the Go To panel
6. Paste the path: /Applications and hit the Go button
7. You should now have two Finder windows open, one showing the DeNoise AI folder, and one showing the Applications folder.
In the Applications folder (your 2nd Finder window) hold down CMD + SHIFT + N to make a new folder.
Name the new folder: Topaz DeNoise AI
8. Double click the Topaz DeNoise AI folder to go inside it. Your two Finder windows should now look like this:
9. Holding down the alt key select the Topaz DeNoise AI app bundle from the first Finder window and drag and drop it onto the second Finder window to make a copy.
There should be two copies of the app bundle.
You are basically copying DeNoise into the old location so Studio 2 can find it. This is just a temporary workaround until Topaz Labs can deploy the fix for this issue at which time you will be able to delete the copy.
When running Studio 2 again you will see in the Filters menu that DeNoise AI is not longer greyed out.
We understand that this may be very frustrating and we are very sorry for the inconvenience.

This is kind of a pain because you are going to have a new account that you will use just to run Gigapixel for until we get out a fix for this, so you are probably better off going with option 1. But just in case you prefer this method, here are links to the instructions for how to do that.

2. You are running Windows Pro

and make a matching folder at:
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Topaz Labs\Topaz A.I. Gigapixel

Your program assets have been installed to Roaming and they need to be in Local for your program to find them.

Topaz Studio 2 is an intuitiveimage effect toolbox built with Topaz Labs’ powerful photo enhancement technology. It can apply a wide range of effects to your images, and provides a great degree of freedom in creating new looks for all your images using a layer-based system.
What differences are there between Topaz Studio 2 and Topaz Studio Classic?
Studio 2 is an overhaul of the previous Topaz Studio app, which we're calling Topaz Studio Classic. The key differences are as follows:
Pricing change. Instead of paying for each add-on you want to use, Topaz Studio 2 will now be available for a single flat fee of $99.99 that includes all adjustments by default. There will be no free version, except for a 30 day trial.
Full non-destructive layer support. Topaz Studio 2 now has a layer-based system and everything you do is non-destructive. Looks (formerly known as presets) go on their own layers so you can now mix, match, and stack them.
Major UI refresh. Topaz Studio 2 received a major user interface change focused around layers. You can easily drag and drop to rearrange layers, access layer masks, and control blending/opacity. This lends itself to vastly improved usability and workflow.

While we did try to bring over as many of the popular presets into Studio 2 from Studio Classic, there are a few that haven't made the cut. Not to worry! You can still use our layered adjustment system to recreate the old presets you're missing and then save them as custom looks, giving you ready access to them anytime.
View ArticleHow To Use The Mask AI Trimap
Mask AI uses a three color map, called the trimap, to tell the application what parts of an image to keep, what parts of an image to remove, and how to automatically determine the edges of your mask.
Applying Trimask Colors To Your Image
You will use the brush and fill buttons to apply red, blue and green colors to your image. Brushes can be adjusted to different sizes and the fill buttons will fill in large areas of the image with the selected color.
Mask AI User Guide here.
The Trimap Colors
Red - Red indicates areas you want to cut out of your image, and your image will automatically be filled in as red when you import it. As you complete your trimask, make sure that no red remains on any part of the image you want to keep.
Blue - Areas you want to compute automatically should be painted blue. The brush tool is your friend here, and you can be generous with your blue area around your edges. You want to make sure every edge you want the app to calculate automatically is within the blue "calculate" zone. Once you paint your blue zone, you can paint your cut and keep colors (red and green) closer to your mask edges if needed.
Green - You'll use the brush or fill bucket to paint the remaining areas you want to keep green, and you don't have to paint right to the edge of your "keep" area. Again, you don't have to paint right to the edges with your green. Leave space for the blue areas on the "keep" side of your image.
The end result will be a three color "map" of the areas you want to keep, compute, and remove similar to the image above.
Once your color map is complete click "Compute Mask" and let Mask AI do the work.
Pro Tip: If a particular area does not create a clean mask, zoom in on the trouble area and use a very small brush to paint small "keep" and "cut" sections INSIDE the blue "compute" area of your trimask. This will give our AI model some extra information about what to keep or cut. You don't have to paint the entire area or paint right to the edges of everything. Small lines and dots around the problem area will do the trick.
In this example, the blue water and blue life jacket were similar enough that it helped to mark the straps of her life jacket to mask out the water between the life jacket and the strap.

1. Go to your Preferences panel using File -> Preferences for Windows or DeNoise AI -> Preferences for the Mac.
2. Click the "Advanced Preferences" button
3. Set "Enable discrete GPU" to "No"
This will cause the image to process on the CPU instead of the GPU. This will probably make your image process slower but will eliminate the artifacting.
Grid artifacting is known to happen for some images but not all images, so hopefully you will only need this workaround rarely and for a few images while we improve our neural net to address these edge cases.

Who are Topaz Labs?
Topaz Labs is a privately owned company with offices in Addison, TX. We use the most advanced developments in visual processing technology to create powerful software products for photographers and digital artists alike.
What is Topaz Labs' Mission?
We strive to make the finest photo editing experience you can find. We believe the best products are capable to get out of the way, allow a user to focus on their task at hand, and complete their task painlessly. It’s a marriage of technology, usability and overall experience that allows it all to work. To achieve that at Topaz Labs, we work continuously to improve every aspect of our business, from our customer service to our website to our products to the technology that power them. We firmly believe that the only way to create great products is to learn and constantly improve upon them, and so we release many updates that enhance the functionality and usability of the software.
About Our Software
How does Topaz Labs' AI Technology Work?
To summarize, we train an Artificial Neural Network with millions of blur-sharp image pairs. The neural network will eventually “remember” what the sharp image should look like if it sees a blurry image. After months of training, we then upload a blurry image to the neural network and ask it to sharpen it. The network will recall what it has learned from all the image pairs it trained with and will attempt to apply the same changes to the new blurry image that it saw in previous sharp images. Click here to find out more about our AI technology.
Do all of your applications use AI technology?
No, only our AI lineup of apps use artificial intelligence technology.
Do I need a powerful computer to run your apps?
Due to the intense number of calculations used by artificial intelligence algorithms, we do have minimum system requirements for all of our apps. You can find them right through this link.
Are any of your apps coming to iOS/Android?
The AI apps require a notable amount of processing power, which mobile devices including iPads simply cannot output at this time.
I'm having trouble with an app! Where can I go for help?
We have a sizable help center with dozens of articles that cover the majority of questions and concerns you might have with Topaz Labs software. If your problem lies outside of the scope of the knowledge base, you can always contact our support team and we’ll provide further assistance.
Do you have any video tutorials for your software?
Our YouTube page hosts a wide variety of videos covering all our software. There are also several tutorials made by our affiliates that you can find around YouTube.
Do you have any text guides for your software?
You can find text guides on our official blog. We post tutorials quite frequently, and you can browse the archives for older tutorials.
How many different computers can I install my software on?
The software license for each of our apps is good for up to two different computers.
I purchased some of your new apps but didn't get any license keys! Where can I find them?
License keys are only used with our legacy plug-ins. For newer applications, like our AI lineup and Topaz Studio 2, we instead have an account-based authorization system. Simply log into your account when first starting up one of the apps and your credentials will be verified automatically!

View ArticleAdjust AI Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is Adjust AI?
Adjust AI leverages machine learning to analyze and transform ordinary photos into lively, vivacious images that would normally require time-consuming, manual adjustments. Adjust AI is the fastest way to achieve ultimate clarity, detail, contrast, and an eye-catching aesthetic with minimal user input.
2) What should I use it for?
Want to quickly fine-tune your image? Adjust AI includes cutting-edge enhancements to give you the ingredients you need to make your photos pop! This combination of technology only exists here.
TOPAZ CLARITY
Topaz Clarity is the modern version of the Contrast slider, with better technology and better results. Topaz Clarity intelligently enhancescontrast and clarity using proprietary technologythat eliminates the common problems of artifacts and halos. With Clarity, you can quickly manipulate your macro, midrange, and overall contrast withouthalos or noise, all while maintaining a natural feeling and tonality in your image.
TOPAZ DETAIL
Topaz Detail takes a fundamentally different approach to detail enhancement. Instead of haphazardly increasing edge contrast, Topaz Precision Detail carefully figures out which parts of your image are “detail” and which are not. Topaz Detail then lets you independently adjust small, medium, and large amounts of detail inside the shadows and highlights of your image. The boost controls are used to refine the smaller (or weaker) small, medium and large details and are relative to the settings of their corresponding detail sliders. The higher the setting of the detail slider is the more intense the effects of the boost slider will be. You will generally see more details (in number) affected when you adjust the boost sliders.
Occasionally you may notice that in the process of enhancing detail your image may appear slightly grainy or noisy. This occurs because the smallest details present in your image are being enhanced and begin to stand out more. To counteract this, simply lower the Small Boost slider and it will remove the noise-like details and smooth out your image in a pleasant way. You can easily add the appearance of depth to your image by increasing the Large Detail slider; this can also intensify shadow areas.
3) What File Types are supported by Adjust AI?
Supported files types:
.png
.tiff
.jpeg
4) What Color Profiles are supported by Adjust AI?
Adjust AI supports all major RBG color profiles. It does not support CMYK at this time.
5) What about RAW File Types?
Adjust AI supports many different kinds of RAW file types, such as DNG (digital negative), and camera specific files, such CR, ARW, and ORF files. However, many of these files contain data that Adjust AI may not know how to read yet. If you experience any issues with using your RAW files, please submit a support request to our Support team with the image included. We use these files to improve RAW support for future versions.
6) When should I use Adjust AI in my workflow?
To achieve the best results with Adjust AI, Topaz Labs recommends the following workflow:
Import photo. Use JPEG to RAW AI to restore RAW editing capabilities if needed.
Apply noise reduction with DeNoise AI.
Make any composition, cropping, or straightening adjustments desired in Topaz Studio.
Apply Adjust AI and make any further tweaks.
7) Is Adjust AI a plugin or standalone only.
Adjust AI can be used as both a plugin and a standalone.
8) How do I use Adjust AI as a plugin with my Host Editor?
See our Host Editor Guides section
9)Why does it take so long for Adjust AI to process?
Adjust AI uses resource intensive AI technology that inherently takes a long time to analyze and correct each image you process through the application. This technology makes multiple calculations for each pixel to intelligently modify the data in your image. This adds up to hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions of calculations that must be performed. That's a big tax on your computer system, so be patient!
10) How do I start a trial?
First, if you are new toTopaz Labs, you'll need to create an account on the Topaz Labs My Account Page. Then, just download Adjust AI from the our Topaz Labs Download Page, login using your account information, and select "Start Trial" to begin your free 30-day trial.
11) How do I purchase download and activate Adjust AI?
To officially own Adjust AI without any trial restrictions, you simply need to purchase Adjust AI from the Topaz Labs Web Store and the next time you launch Adjust AI you will have ownership. You can also select "update product ownership" from the helpdrop down menu as well.
View ArticleHow to start the trial?
Starting a trial is very simple. Simply download Gigapixel AI fromthe Topaz Labs Downloads Page then login with yourTopaz Labs account credentials. You will be asked to purchase or start a trial.
How do I purchase, activate and download?
To officially own Gigapixel AI without any trial restrictions, you simply need to purchase Gigapixel AI from the Topaz Labs Web Store and the next time you launch Gigapixel AI you will have ownership.
Can you pause an image?
You can pause an image after you have more than one image inthe image list. The application will pause after the initial image has finished processing. I recommend using this feature when you need to use other applications on your computer or to relieve some memory to speed up other processes on your computer.
What file types does Gigapixel AI support?
Supported files types:
.png
.tiff
.jpeg
RAW files
Learn More: Supported File Types
What Color Profiles are supported by Gigapixel AI?
Gigapixel AI supports all major RBG color profiles. It does not support CMYK at this time.
How do I preview the results?
You simply double click on the image and your image will open with your default image preview on your computer.
Can I use Gigapixel AI for Video?
We now have Gigapixel AI for Video! You can find it at videoai.topazlabs.com
Trained on thousands of videos and combining information from multiple input video frames,Topaz Gigapixel AI for Videoenlarges your video up to 8k resolution with true details and motion consistency.
Why is it so slow?
Gigapixel AI uses resource-intensive AI technology that inherently takes a long time, even more so than our other AI technology (AI Remix or AI Clear). The process takes over a million calculations per pixel to upsample your images so these calculations take time, but still better than our leading competitor.
Gigapixel AI appears to hang or crash immediately on processing, and Task Manager says it's not using any processing power?
Your graphics card is unsupported, or you have insufficient system or graphics memory. Please refer to the Gigapixel AI System Requirements page to learn more.
How do you add images to Gigapixel AI?
Drag and drop a folder containing images, or select multiple images and drag them into the main GigaPixel AI application window. You can also click it and select any number of images to import.
I added several images, but it's not upsampling them??
After adding images, youwill see a panel slide in from the right. This contains options that should be set before a file is an output. When you are ready to begin processing, hit "Start" in the bottom right corner.
My program immediately crashes or never completes processing.
Your graphics card, system memory, or graphics memory are inadequate for GigaPixel AI. A modern dedicated graphics card (NVidia or ATI non-mobile/laptop versions) is strongly recommended, but laptop users could get by with an Intel Integrated 4500 or better and 8GB or RAM, depending on the image size. Please refer tothe Gigapixel AI Minimum Requirements page to learn more.
Why is Gigapixel AI not a plugin?
Because Gigapixel AI changes the fundamental properties of an image file, the host editor believes an issue has occurred when it attempts to return the image.
I clicked cancel or pause but nothing happens??
Cancel will only allow you to proceed until one image has been fully processed. This is a limitation of our engine. Pause will only suspend processing in the same way.
When should I use Gigapixel AI in my workflow?
I would generally use Gigapixel AI to finish an image that has been tweaked in Studio, Photoshop or other tools. This would minimize the amount of work needed to fine-tune the image itself. GigaPixel AI is especially useful to create a large scale (e.g. posters, wallpapers) of smaller photographs. The exception to this rule is for low res images that don't have a good source image, We recommend using it first so you have the best source information to work within your edits.
My computer is very slow while using Gigapixel AI. I'm seeing 100\% GPU usage.
GigaPixel AI is a GPGPU application ("general processing graphics processing unit"). Unlike a CPU application, the technology we use cannot be throttled to use less than the maximum it requires. If you don't have a strong GPU or a dual GPU setup, this will result in a noticeable slowdown until GigaPixel AI is finished. To minimize impact, GigaPixel AI could be run overnight on a large set of images at once. For more information please visit the Gigapixel AI Minimum Requirements page.
Why does Gigapixel add artifacts to my image?
It doesn't, but if the original image already has visible but subtle 'artifact,' GigaPixel AI will make the artifacts more obvious. This is the proper nature of the technology, which attempts to preserve the image in full fidelity. We have added a different model that reduces noise while upsampling, but GigaPixel AI is not designed as a noise reduction tool in any capacity.
The exception to this rule is for low res images that don't have a good source image, We recommend using it first so you have the best source information to work within your edits.
What is so "artificially intelligent" about Gigapixel AI?
Most software will merely interpolate between existing pixels to 'fill in' missing parts of an image when it is upscaled. GigaPixel AI was trained with similar images at different resolutions so that over time it began to 'learn' how each particular image should be upscaled. For more information about the technology behind Gigapixel AI please visit the Gigapixel AI page.

View ArticleWhat does it do?
Through Machine Learning, Sharpen AI will analyze your images and correct the three most common side effect when shooting handheld incorrect focus, camera shake and general softness.
What should I use it for?
When photographing moving subjects, there is always a risk of capturing images that are out of focus. With Sharpen AI you have the ability to correct the focus resulting in a sharper image. When shooting your camera handheld, you may think you are able to hold a camera pretty still, but even the slightest movement can ruin a shot as soon as you press the shutter button, especially if your shutter speed is too slow. However, Sharpen AI is able the recognize the degree of the shake and is able to correct the blur caused by the shake resulting in stable and sharper image.
What File Types are supported by SharpenAI?
Supported files types:
.png
.tiff
.jpeg
***Note: Sharpen AIdoes not support RAW files at the moment, you will have to convert to one of the formats above in order to process your image through SharpenAI
What Color Profiles are supported by Sharpen AI?
Sharpen AI supports all major RBG color profiles. It does not support CMYK at this time.
What do the three processing modes do?
There are three processing modes in Sharpen AI to tackle the three most common causes for unsharpened images Sharpen, Stabilize, and Focus.
Sharpen Mode:: Sharpens objects in your image and brings out their detail and definition rather than sharpening all aspects of your image, even unwanted detail (such as noise).
Stabilize Mode:: Detects the degree of shake in your image and stabilizes the motion blur for a crisp clear result.
Focus Mode:: When your image is slightly out of focus, this mode will learn patterns in your image and can rescue a blur within ten pixels to recover a slight lens blur.
How to use the sliders in Sharpen AI?
Model strength sliders should be set according to the type and amount of blur/noise in the input image.
Remove Blur and Suppress Noise Sliders allows you to determine how much blur and noise you would like to remove from your image. Some images will require a stronger effect, while others only need a small adjustment to correct the image to your desired output.
Add Grain:: allows you to return grain/noise to the image to achieve a more realistic look. Although this doesn’t occur often, you should only be adding grain/noise if the processing mode (Sharpen, Stabilize, Focus) that you have originally selected over corrects your image resulting in unnatural smoothness of surfaces or too much detail loss.
Is SharpenAI a plugin or standalone only.
Sharpen AI's function is to sharpen your images, and since the task of sharpening occurs within the normal post-processing editing workflow, you can use Sharpen AI as a plugin with Photoshop, Lightroom and Topaz Studio.
How do I access Sharpen AI through Lightroom?
Sharpen A.I. can be used through Lightroom, you just need to set up Sharpen A.I. as an external editor. Follow the directions below::
-Preferences External Editing
-In the Additional External Editor section, under preset please select choose and search for Sharpen AI. Once you have the Sharpen AI application selected (make sure it is the actual icon and not the entire Sharpen AI folder).
-Next click on the preset drop down menu and select “save current settings as a new preset” and enter the name Sharpen AI.
Now that you have Sharpen AI set up as a external editor, to access simply right click “edit in” "Sharpen AI” “Edit a Copy”
NOTE:: To save back to Lightroom you will have to "File Save" in order to save. Do not use the "Save as" option.
Why does it take so long for Sharpen AI to process?
Sharpen AI uses resource intensive AI technology that inherently takes a long time to analyze and correct each image you process through the application.
How do I avoid so many recalculations of the preview image?
You can turn off automatic preview update using the controls shown below:
Topaz Labs Web Store
Can I use two processing modes on the same image?
If you come across a situation that you would like to use two processing modes (Sharpen, Stabilize, Focus) on one image, then you need will simply need to run your image twice through SharpenAI. Choose your first processing mode, save and then openthe saved image in SharpenAI again to apply another processing mode.
Why and when should I use the add grain slider?
At times the results from the processing modes (Sharpen, Stabilize, Focus) can result in unnaturally smooth surfaces, to make the outcome little more natural, you can adjust the add grain slider slightly to give your image detail a more natural look.
Does Sharpen AI have Batch Processing?
Sharpen AI does not have batch processing at this time however it is a feature we are considering adding in the new year.
What is the difference between Sharpen AI and AI Clear?
A couple immediate differences off the bat is that the Stabilize (shake reduction) and Focus (focus correction) modes in Sharpen AI have no AI Clear alternatives. These modes serve the purpose of InFocus classic plugin (with better results) rather than pure output sharpening.
The Sharpen module in Sharpen AI does have similarities with AI Clear. The difference here is a bit more subtle and come from the training process between these two products. AI Clear was trained on images with generally more noise, where as Sharpen AI was trained on images with generally less noise but more blur. Resulting in AI Clear’s main detection is noise where as Sharpen AI’s main detection is to recognize blur. This makes Clear optimal for noisy images and Sharpen more effective for a bit more blurry images.
How do I start a trial?
First, if you are new toTopaz Labs, create an account on the Topaz Labs My Account Page. Next simply download SharpenAI from the Topaz Labs Downloads Page, login using your account information, and select "Start Trial" to begin your free 30-day trial.
How do I purchase download and activate SharpenAI?
To officially ownSharpenAI without any trial restrictions, you simply need to purchaseA.I. Sharpen from theand the next time you launchSharpenAI you will have ownership. You can also select "update product ownership" from the helpdrop down menu as well.
I am getting some astounding images out of some photos while others seem to have varied little. Same camera, same time, same lens, similar images.
Since this is an AI product, there is no way for us to predict which images will have the best results. The results will depend on the contents of the image, ie. what is in the actual pixels, and is not related to your camera make, model, etc.
