Dr. Roger A. Jeffs, Ph.D., has been Senior Advisor of United Therapeutics Corporation since June 21, 2016. Dr. Jeffs is The Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Bull City Select Investments, An Investment Firm Focused On In-Licensing and Development of Early-Stage Biotechnology Assets. Dr. Jeffs has over 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in R&D, clinical development, regulatory and medical affairs. He served as a Co-Chief Executive Officer of United Therapeutics Corporation from January 1, 2015 to June 26, 2016 and its President from April 2001 to June 26, 2016, Chief Operating Officer from April 2001 to December 31, 2014 and Vice President of Research, Development and Medical since July 2000. Dr. Jeffs joined United Therapeutics Corporation in September 1998 as Director of Research, Development and Medical. While at United Therapeutics, Dr. Jeffs led the clinical development, regulatory approval and commercialization of six rare disease products. He worked for United Therapeutics Corporation for 18 years. Previously, he served as The Worldwide Clinical Leader of The Infectious Disease Program at Amgen Inc. and as a Member of The Clinical Research Team at Burroughs Wellcome & Company. Prior to 1998, Dr. Jeffs worked at Amgen, Inc. as Manager of Clinical Affairs and Associate Director of Clinical Research from 1995 to 1998. He has been a Director of Albireo Pharma, Inc. since September 28, 2017. He has been a Director of Dova Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since May 2017 and Sangamo Therapeutics, Inc. since June 2017. He has been Director of Spyryx Biosciences, Inc. since January 16, 2018. He has been a Director of Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. since December 2014 and serves as its Lead Director. Dr. Jeffs served as Director of United Therapeutics Corporation from 2002 to June 21, 2016. Dr. Jeffs holds a BS/BA degree in Chemistry from Duke University and PhD in Pharmacology from University of North Carolina.
