Gilbert Fung Ph.D. — Senior Vice President of Sales - Asia at Universal Electronics

Dr. Gilbert Fung, Ph.D., has been Senior Vice President of Sales - Asia at Universal Electronics Inc. since April 2014. Dr. Fung is responsible for developing and executing UEI's overall sales strategy in Asia Pacific. He has more than 17 years of management experience in the Asia Pacific region, along with extensive sales experience of the Asia Pacific market. He served as Vice President of APAC at Ascom Network Testing Inc. Dr. Fung served as Managing Director and Vice President of Asia Sales at Ascom Network Testing Inc. for three years. He held the responsibility of managing the entire P&L for the Ascom Network Testing business in Asia with offices in Malaysia, China and India. Dr. Fung launched his career with Nortel in 1991. At Nortel's R&D facility in Ottawa, Canada, he was involved in a number of R&D projects for telecom solutions. In his 18-year career with Nortel, he assumed numerous management roles and responsibilities covering sales, marketing and product management, as well as R&D. In 1998, Dr. Fung was transferred from Ottawa, Canada, to Hong Kong, where he held an impressive range of management positions with Nortel until 2009. In 2009, he joined Nvidia as the Telco Sales Director responsible for the Asia Pacific Telecom market segment. Dr. Fung completed his doctorate degree in computer science at the University of Manitoba, Canada.
