We'd recommend filing your change of address form at least 2 weeks prior to your move as it typically takes the USPS between 7-12business days to process mail forwarding requests.
Once they've finished processing your request,you'll receive a USPS Confirmation Letter in the mail and begin seeing your forwarded mail a few days later.
Please note: It can take up to 10 business days for the USPS to redirect mail from your old address to your new address. If it's been more than 10 business days since receiving your USPS Confirmation Letter, you'll want to contact your local post office (at your old address) for additional assistance!
View ArticleFor your start date, you'll want to select the date that you will be moving to your new address as this essentially tells the USPS on what date they should stop delivering mail to your old address and begin redirecting mail to your new address.
Please note: It can take up to 10 business days from your start date to receive your first piece of forwarded mail. During this time, the USPS is redirecting your mail from your old home to your new home.

View ArticleWhile the majority of addresses that are classified by the USPS as Commercial are business addresses, it's not entirely uncommon for multifamily properties (such as apartment communities or fraternity houses) to be classified as Commercial as well since mail is oftentimes delivered to the same place (i.e. the leasing office).
Unfortunately, Updater cannot process change of address forms for commercial addresses at this time. However, if you would still like to forward your mail toa commercial address, you are able to on the USPS website.
Keep in mind, the USPS unable to process change of address forms fromcommercial addresses.So, what should you do if your old address is classified as Commercial? You'll want to utilize our Update Your Accounts feature to seamlessly notify any of over 15,000 businesses of your new address.

View ArticleIt sounds like the billing information on your credit card might not match either the old or new address on your Updater account. Unfortunately, this is a security condition required by the USPS so we won't be able to verify your identity with this credit card.
In terms of the $1 charge, have no fear! Oftentimes, your bank will put a temporary hold of the amount since a charge was attempted but that will go away within the next few days.

However, if you select the maximum of 12 months of mail forwarding, the postal service will make your address available through their National Change of Address (NCOA) list. As a result, mailers and marketing firms that know your name and old address will now have access to your new address.
If youdon'twant this to happen, we recommend temporarily forwarding your mail for about 6 months. We can help you do this simply choose 6 months as the length of time for mail forwarding on your Change of Address Form.

This page will show you the status of your pending account and/or address updates. As long as nothing is listed as Unverified, you're good to go and can do ahead and cross one more thing off your to-do list.

View ArticleOnce the USPS has finished processing your mail forwarding request, they'll be sending you an official USPS Confirmation Letter to your new address. Your USPS Confirmation Number will be included in that letter so keep an eye out for that in your mailbox within 1-2 weeks of submitting your mail forwarding request. You'll want to keep this letter handy as this is the number you can use to edit or cancel your mail forwarding request in the future.
Haven't yet received your USPS Confirmation Letter but would like to check in with the USPS regarding status of your mail forwarding request? No problem! Just stop by your local post office, provide them with your photo ID, and they'll be able to help you out.
View ArticleFirst things first, head on over to the Forward Your Mail step to find out if your change of address form(s) have already been processed or not.
If your change of address form still shows a status of Pending, this means it has not yet been sent off to the USPS for processing. Click on the Cancel link to ensure your mail forwarding form does not get sent. If you click on Edit, you'll be able to update the name, USPS form type, start date and duration for mail forwarding. If you would like tomake a change to your address, just reachout to our Customer Experience team and they will be happy to make any edits for you.
NOTE: If you are using a mobile device, you may have to scroll over to the right in order to see the Edit or Cancel buttons.
If your change of address form shows a status of Completed, this means that the USPS has already received your change of address form and we can no longer make changes or cancel on your behalf. You'll need to stop by your local post office and provide them with a photo ID for verification in order to make changes or cancel.

Update Accounts
To get started, simply head on over to the step on your dashboard and select the type of account you'd like to update.
From there, begin typing the name of the organization in the search bar and click the correct item to add to your list. Dont be shy you can update as many accounts as youd like.
When you are done adding items, click the Submit Updates button. You can always login to your account at any time to check the status of these updates or add new ones.
