I think that the leadership team (there is a separate one for each department) really cares about the well-being of the employees. It's impossible to have a perfect work-life balance, but I believe that they try.

The compensation I receive is commensurate with my education and past experience, as well as taking into account the cost of commuting to an office that has a difficult location (very heavy rush-hour traffic).

We actually work quite well together. Departments are re-organized from time to time, to ensure the best collection of people in each working group.
The culture and environment really do reflect the company's overall goal, which is to make medical data quickly and easily accessible to physicians around the world.

It's no one's fault, but it's hard to look forward to working in a cubicle all day, even if your work and the company's mission and values are good. I wouldn't say that anything is going wrong with this company specifically, just that the general model of U.S. office work could use more motivation.
