Prerequisites:
Setup must have been completed first.

Start a Call from Glasses:
Open the "Vital" app
Select "My contacts".
Navigate to the contact you wish to call.
Select the contact.
Select either "Video call" or "Audio call".
Start a Call from the Web:
Sign into the "Vital" web app at https://app.vital.enterprises
Click the video call icon next to a contact- OR -Click the "More" button (three dots) and select "Audio call".
View ArticleNew in version 6.0, you can add multiple people to a Virtual Presence call. For example, you can have two mentors viewing the video stream from one technician wearing glasses, to provide guidance together.
Because this is currently an experimental feature, it needs to be manually enabled for each user that will be using it. Follow the below instructions to enable it for at least 3 devices:
Enable the feature on smart glasses, phones and tablets:
1. Open the Vital app
2. Go to "My settings" > "Communications" > "Enable group calls"
Enable the feature on the web app:
1. Open the Vital app
2. Click the menu button in the top left corner.
3. Go to "Settings" > "Call preferences" > "Enable group calls"
4. Reload the browser tab
Add another person to a call:
1. Start a call
2. Click the "Add contact" button (on glasses, say "Add contact")
3. Select another contact who has the group calls feature enabled

After opening the Vital app for the first time, or after logging out, you will be guided through the initial setup procedure.
Select Connection Type: "Begin Cloud Setup"
Visit https://www.vital.enterprises/activate using your computer or phone's web browser.
Enter the activation key shown on the glasses, plus your username and password.
Click "Activate".
Once you have completed activation on the web site, return to the glasses and say "Activate this device".

Download the Vital App
Ensure that your glasses are connected to the internet.
In your glasses' All Apps list, scroll to and select your web browser to open it.
Move your cursor over the address bar at the top of the screen, and click on it.Note: On ODG R-7 glasses you may need toswitch your navigation mode to "cursor" by pressing the "cursor" button (the rear-most button on the underside of the right arm of your glasses).You can now move a cursor around on the screen using the touchpad button on top of the right arm of the glasses.
Enter this URL using the on-screen keyboard: vital.vu/go If prompted, follow the instructions toupdate permissions.Note: If you are viewing this page on your glasses, simply click on the link above.
Click "Go" on the on-screen keyboard.
Install the Vital App
Return to the home screen by pressing the "back" button.
In your glasses' All Apps list, scroll to and click on "Downloads".
Scroll to and click on "vital.apk". You may need to wait until it has completed downloading.Note: If more than one "vital.apk" is listed, click on the one at the top of the list.
If asked, click on "Package installer" then click on "Always".
If you receive an "Install blocked" notice, click on "Settings" then scroll to and click on "Unknown sources" to enable this, then click "OK". Press the "back" button on your glasses, then repeat the above two steps.
You will be asked "Do you want to install this application?". Click on "Next" repeatedly, until "Next" changes to "Install".
Click on "Install".
Once you see an "App installed" notice, Click on "Open"

Enable download from unknown sources
Swipe down from the top of the screen, then tap the Settings icon (a gear).
Scroll down to the "Personal" section and tap "Security".
Scroll down to the "Device administration" section.
Ensure that "Unknown sources" is enabled.
Return to your tablet's home screen.
Download and Install Vital
From your tablet's home screen, open a web browser (usually Chrome).

You may be asked "Allow Chrome to access photos, media, and files on your device?". Tap "ALLOW".
You may be asked "This type of file can harm your device. Do you want to keep vital.apk anyway?". Tap "OK".
Swipe down from the top of your screen to open your notification bar.
In your notification bar, find "vital.apk" or "file.apk". Wait until this says "Download complete." then tap on it.
You will receive the notification "Vital. Do you want to install this application? It does not require any special access." Tap "INSTALL".
Wait until you receive the notification "App installed."

Viewing on Google Glass
Select "view" from menu by tapping the side-touchpad. Expect to see the image full screen.
Zoom into picture by swiping forward on the side-touchpad.
While zoomed in, able to pan by holding two fingers to the side-touchpad and moving head.
Zoom out by swiping backwards on the side-touchpad.
Swipe down on the side-touchpad to exit.
Viewing on ODG
Select "view" from menu by pressing the d-pad button. Expect to see the image full screen.
Zoom into picture by swiping forward on the d-pad button.
While zoomed in, able to pan by pressing down on the d-pad button and moving head.
Zoom out by swiping backwards on the d-pad button.
Press the backbutton on the undercarriage of the device to exit.

Select desired peer, expect to see a page that says "Sending request... sending request".
Once the desired peer accepts the call, both users should be viewing the same image.
Press back to disconnect

Hands free navigation allows the user to operate the glasses via head movements, which will be further explained below:
Hands-free can be enabled or disabled for each app in Vital Settings
To Activate Hands-free:
Open Vital Settings
Select "Hands Free Mode" and ensure that the checkbox is checked
To De-activate Hands-free
Open Vital Settings
Select "Hands Free Mode" and ensure that the checkbox is NOT checked
Once "Hands Free Mode" is turned on in Vital Settings, it can be enabled and disabled by tilting head 15 degrees to the right.
Once Hands Free is enabled, there should be 4 arrows showing, one for each side of the screen.
Looking left or right will scroll through available options.
Looking down will act as confirmation.
Looking up will back out of the current window.
Zoom and Pan modes are available if viewing an image.
Starts in Zoom mode
Look to the right to zoom in.
Look to the left to zoom out.
Tilt head to the left 15 degrees and back to center to switch to Pan mode.
Panning can only be accomplished if already zoomed in on the image.
Look with the glasses towards the edge of the screen and more of the image should be revealed while the entire image appears to be stationary in physical space.
Tilt head to the left 15 degrees and back to center to switch back to Zoom mode.
