What's the company culture like at Volkswagen Group of America?
Company structure tends to be a bit of the "good old boys" club. Unless you are in the group, there is a ceiling that is almost impossible to break through. The higher you go, the more German it looks.
What benefits does Volkswagen Group of America provide?
Depending upon what level and group you work for, the best benefit is the company car. Really is a GREAT value. Offsets a major bill that you have. Health insurance is good, not great. The 401K benefits are pretty standard.
What's the office vibe like at Volkswagen Group of America?
The people are great. However kind of clique-y due to silos
What's the interview process like at Volkswagen Group of America?
This varies from group to group. Some groups are very structured, some are not
What do people at Volkswagen Group of America think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Hard to tell yet. He has not made any bold moves yet. The new CEO seems to be well respected so far.
How's the work life balance at Volkswagen Group of America?
Work at VWGoA comes in cycles. Sometimes it is completely unrealistic and unbearable, sometimes it is manageable. It is never dead though. Work-life balance is a real struggle. They do claim to promote "work-from-home", however, that is EXTREMELY rare occurrence. It does not seem management is able to trust enough to really make that a reality. It is still a novel idea at VWGoA.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Volkswagen Group of America?
VW needs better collaboration between departments. Working relationships between departments are generally politically charged with trust issues that are generally caused by leadership misalignment and financial control issues. This creates constant struggles between teams that are trying to work together. The culture in general operates in silos instead of promoting collaboration. The culture is generally also a "blame" culture rather than promoting a "fail-fast" collaborative team culture.
