Thomas M. Kiernan Esq. — VP, General Counsel & Secretary at VSE Corporation

Mr. Thomas M. Kiernan, also known as Tom, Esq., has been Vice President and General Counsel of VSE Corp. since November 17, 2008 and serves as its Secretary. Mr. Kiernan is responsible for VSE legal affairs and corporate compliance. He served as a Corporate Secretary of VSE Corp. since November 2008. He served as an Assistant Secretary of VSE Corp. since November 17, 2008. He served as Vice President, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of Intelsat General Corporation from 2003 to 2008. He oversaw Administration, including human resources, security, export controls and information technology. He was responsible for managing all legal and regulatory compliance aspects for Intelsat General Corporation. Prior to joining Intelsat General Corporation in 2003, he spent the previous three years as a member of the Office of General Counsel of Intelsat, Ltd., parent company of Intelsat General Corporation from 2000 to 2003, where he was responsible for providing the lead legal support to major satellite and launch programs, as well as for real estate, procurement and intellectual property issues. Prior to joining Intelsat in May 2000, Mr. Kiernan served for six years as the sole Corporate Counsel for SRA Life Sciences from 1994 to 2000, a government contractor located in Falls Church, VA, which specialized in technology consulting services in support of the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, EPA and various federal health agencies. He served as Director of Intelsat General Corporation. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and an active member of the Alexandria, VA community. Mr. Kiernan holds a B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Tech in 1990 and JD degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1994.
