Ms. Alvord earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Political Science and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass. She also earned her MBA from the Harvard Business School.
