Mr. Cory D. Stewart has been the Principal Accounting Officer and Senior Vice President at Washington Federal, Inc. since July 25, 2016. Mr. Stewart served as the Chief Accounting Officer and Executive Vice President of HomeStreet, Inc. from October 15, 2012 to June 19, 2015 and also served as its Principal Financial Officer. He served as the Chief Accounting Officer and Executive Vice President at HomeStreet Bank, Inc. He served as Director of Finance at VMC Consulting, Inc. (alternate name, VMC Consulting Corporation). He has over 13 years of experience in accounting and finance managerial roles for both large and small institutions. Mr. Stewart served as Corporate Controller at HomeStreet since March 2012. He joined HomeStreet in March 2012. He served as Senior Vice President and Finance Director of HomeStreet Bank, Inc. until July 2012. Mr. Stewart served as Senior Vice President of Finance & Accounting of HomeStreet, Inc. from May 2012 to July 2012 and since March 2012. Before joining HomeStreet, Mr. Stewart served as Director of Finance for Volt Information Sciences, Inc., from February 2009 to March 2012, where he was responsible for finance and accounting for three of its operating divisions. Mr. Stewart served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting of HomeStreet Bank since March 13, 2012. He served as an Interim Controller at VMC and has developed robust policies and practices within the finance area. Mr. Stewart served in various finance, accounting and enterprise risk management roles at Washington Mutual, Inc. from October 2001 to February 2009. He served as First Vice President, Corporate Accounting Policy Group for Washington Mutual Bank (WaMu), where he was responsible for accounting policy matters and managed large scale accounting policy projects. He also held roles at WaMu in Enterprise Risk Management where he was responsible for various market risk oversight functions, asset and liability management policies, product/instrument approval processes and other governance related matters. He also worked in Home Loans Capital Markets Accounting where he was one of WaMu's financial instruments subject matter experts. Mr. Stewart served as a Manager in Audit and Business Advisory Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a Board Member of the Washington Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI). He is a Member of AICPA and CFA Society of Seattle and is active as a volunteer with the United Way, Boys & Girls Club, Junior Achievement and other charities. For his demonstrated leadership and high performance, he was awarded multiple honors at WaMu including the ACE Award, Above & Beyond Award and was a Summit Club recipient. Mr. Stewart is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Washington and has been a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder since 2002. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Utah.
