Mr. Jerl L. Banning has been the Senior Vice President of Operations Support and Administration at Westar Energy, Inc. since January 2015 and served as its Vice President of Human Resources since February 26, 2010 until December 2013. Mr. Banning joined Westar Energy in 2008, as Executive Director of Human Resources. Between 1996 and 2008, he held various positions in human resources at Aquila, Inc., and Koch Industries. Prior to these positions, he worked in a variety of professional services organizations as a human resources consultant with clients in multiple industries. He received his B.A. in psychology from Bethel College and a master's degree in organizational/personnel psychology from the University of Kansas.
