Matthew Massengill — Chairman at Western Digital Corporation

Mr. Matthew E. Massengill, also known as Matt, served as the Chief Executive Officer at Western Digital Corporation from January 2000 to October 2005, Executive Chairman from September 2005 to March 2007 and served as its President from January 2000 to January 2002. Mr. Massengill served as the Chief Operating Officer of Western Digital Corp. from October 1999 to January 2000, Co-Chief Operating Officer from August 1999 to October 1999 and its Chairman from November 2001 to September 2005. He joined Western Digital Corporation in 1985 and served in various executive capacities until January 2007. He was a Research Engineer for Ford Aerospace and Communication Corporation. He has technical training and over 20 years business and leadership experience in the technology industry, including service as the Chief Executive Officer of a public company in that industry and service on the boards of directors of several public companies. He has been the Chairman of Western Digital Corporation since November 4, 2015. He has been a Director of VIZIO, Inc. since June 2010, GTAT Corporation since September 2008 and GT Advanced Technologies Inc. since September 18, 2008. He has been an Independent Director of Microsemi Corporation since 2006 and Western Digital Corporation since January 2000. He serves as a Director of several non-profit organizations including Orange County Technology Action Network, South Coast Repertory and THINK Together. He served as a Director of ViewSonic Corporation since December 2003 and Conexant Systems Inc. from June 19, 2008 to 2011. Mr. Massengill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and has received Outstanding Electrical Engineering Alumni and Distinguished Engineering Alumni awards from Purdue University.
