Mr. Shaji Farooq has been President of Banking, Capital Markets & Insurance at Wipro Ltd since January 2018. Mr. Farooq served as Chief Executive of Banking, Financial Services & Insurance of Wipro Ltd. since December 15, 2015. He served as the Chief Executive of the President of BFSI at Wipro Ltd. since January 1, 2014 until December 15, 2015 and November 7, 2015 until December 15, 2015 respectively and served as its Senior Vice President. Mr. Farooq served as Senior Vice President of Global Head of Advanced Technologies, Global Alliances & Go-to-Market Transformation at Wipro Technologies Limited. He also heads Wipro's Global Alliances with key partners (HP, IBM, EMC and Microsoft). In this role, he is responsible for further strengthening Wipro's strategic alliances and driving sell-with business with global partners. Mr. Farooq is responsible for global transformation of Wipro's Go-to-Market strategy. Mr. Farooq served as Head of the Banking & Capital Markets Division for US with Infosys Ltd. until September 2012. He has 20 years of experience in the IT industry and worked with IBM and Diamond Management & Technology Consultants. Prior to joining Wipro, Mr. Farooq held several senior positions - most recently at Infosys, he served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Consulting & Systems Integration across FSI and Head, FSI Americas. Mr. Farooq has over 24 years of professional experience. His areas of expertise include Business & IT Strategy, Business Process Redesign and Value Management, with significant focus on the Financial Services Industry. He has managed large teams and has been an active contributor to innovation and thought leadership. Mr. Farooq holds 40 technology patents. Mr. Farooq has an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at NYU, a Ph.D. in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
