Pavel Aleshin — Head of Yandex Market at Yandex N.V.

Mr. Pavel Aleshin serves as Head of Yandex Market at Yandex LLC and Yandex N.V. Mr. Aleshin served as Chief Information Officer at Yandex LLC and Yandex N.V. Mr. Aleshin was responsible for the infrastructure, including the adoption and development of application software, billing, statistics and customer-relationship-management tools. In this role, he managed the implementation and operations of the key infrastructure solutions, such as cloud and real-time pipeline computing platforms, distributed and transactional data storage systems, technological solutions supporting the company's e-commerce business. He joined Yandex in 2001 as a C++ engineer and soon became a lead development manager on a number of the company's key projects ' Yandex.Market, Russia's leading online marketplace, among others. Soon after that his remit expanded to include responsibility for the payment systems, internal billing and statistics services. As head of Yandex's payment systems, he was overseeing the development of the web-based version of the e-payment service Yandex.Money. His work at Yandex also included leading the effort to streamline its internal processes. From June 2009 to March 2012, he was deputy head of software development at Yandex. He has a degree in biomedical engineering from Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
