Prior to Carpenter, Mr. Thene served as the Chief Financial Officer of Engineered Products & Solutions Business Group at Alcoa Inc. from August 1, 2010 to January 30, 2013 and served as its Principal Accounting Officer. He served as Controller and Vice President of Alcoa Inc. since January 2008 until August 2010. He served as a Director of Pittsburgh Mercy Health System, Inc., until March 28, 2016. He has been Director of Carpenter Technology Corp. since July 1, 2015. He is a Certified Public Accountant and received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Indiana State University (1983) and received an MBA Degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 2001.
