BIO: Kevin Akers was named president and chief executive officer in October 2019. Akers served as executive vice president from November 2018 to October 2019. Prior to this role, he served as Senior Vice President, Safety and Enterprise Services, from January 2017 through October 2018. Akers also served as president of the Kentucky/Mid-States Division from May 2007 through October 2016 and served as president of the Mississippi Division from 2002 to 2007. He led the Mississippi Valley Gas transition team for Atmos Energy while serving as vice president of Northern Region Operations for Atmos Energy's Louisiana Division. From 1997 to 2001, he served as vice president of Eastern Region Operations for Atmos Energy's Kentucky Division. BIO: Mr. Charles L. Rice, Jr. has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Entergy New Orleans, Inc. since June 14, 2010 and serves as its Chairman. Mr. Rice serves as President and Manager at Entergy New Orleans Storm Recovery Funding I, L.L.C. Mr. Rice's breadth of skills in city government, along with prior regulatory and legal experience at Entergy and two highly regarded law firms, provide exceptional experience as he takes on the top role at Entergy New Orleans. Like West, He began his first legal private practice position in Louisiana with Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrere & Denegre, L.L.P. following which he joined Entergy in the legal department. From 2002 to 2005, He was recruited into New Orleans city government as the city attorney and later took the critical role of chief administrative officer for the City of New Orleans. From 2005 to 2009, he was partner at the law firm of Barrasso, Usdin, Kupperman, Freeman & Sarver, L.L.C. following which he returned to Entergy as director of regulatory affairs for Entergy New Orleans in January 2010. Mr. Rice joined Entergy in the legal department in 2000, serving as senior counsel in the Entergy Services, Inc. litigation group and then as manager of labor relations litigation support in human resources. He served as Director at utility strategy of Entergy Services, Inc., from 2009 to 2010. He has been Director of Entergy New Orleans since 2010 and OncBioMune Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since November 2015. Mr. Rice serves as a Director of The New Orleans Business Alliance. Mr. Rice serves as a Board Member at Algiers Charter School Association, Inc. After graduating from Howard University, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army and served as a military intelligence officer with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Ky. While in the Army, he earned the Airborne Badge, Air Assault Badge and was awarded the Army Commendation and the Army Achievement Medals. Mr. Rice holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Howard University, a juris doctorate from Loyola University's School of Law and master's degree in business administration from Tulane University.
