BIO: Mr. Jeffrey T. Mezger, also known as Jeff, has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of KB Home since November 12, 2006 and has been its Chairman since August 17, 2016. As a respected industry voice in sustainability, Mr. Mezger launched a strategic transformation of KB Home that led to the introduction and continuous development of KB Home energy-efficient and environmentally-conscious home designs and helped reduce the environmental impact of its operations. Mr. Mezger has overseen the development of KB Home's unique home buying experience, which emphasizes consumer choice and value. Under His leadership, KB Home established itself as one of the most recognized brands in homebuilding. He has 23 years of service. He is the Founding Chairman of the Leading Builders of America. Mr. Mezger serves as a Member of the Executive Board of USC Lusk Center for Real Estate. He served as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of KB Home from 1999 to 2006. He led the development of KB Home core KBnxt operational business model and expanded and diversified KB Home's U.S. homebuilding operations. He was responsible for U.S. homebuilding operations, overseeing 36 divisions operating in 40 markets in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia at KB Home. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Mezger directed an aggressive diversification and acquisition strategy that doubled the number of the KB Home's major markets from 17 to 34. He also oversaw the expansion of its traditional product line of entry-level and move-up single-family homes to cover a broad range of products that meet the demands of today's homebuyers, including higher density infill and luxury residences. He has been instrumental in creating KB Home's culture of operational excellence and has transformed it into a quality and customer service leader. He served as Senior Vice President and Regional General Manager of Southwest region of KB Home from 1998 to 1999 and President of KB Home Arizona division from 1995 to 1998, where he managed the operations of the division and supervised development of new home communities throughout Greater Phoenix and metropolitan Tucson areas. A 30-year homebuilding industry veteran, he joined KB Home in July 1993 as President of its Antelope Valley division in Southern California and served as its President of KB Home Phoenix. In 2005, he helped launch a ground-breaking joint venture between KB Home and Countrywide Home Loans, Countrywide KB Home Loans, a unique partnership between a major homebuilder and one of the country's leading mortgage lenders. Prior to joining KB Home, Mr. Mezger spent 15 years with U.S.A Home and served as its President of Central California division from 1983 to 1993, which expanded under his watch to include Bakersfield, Fresno and Antelope Valley. He serves as Chairman of the Policy Advisory Board of the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University. He is on the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. He served as Chairman of Kaufman & Broad SA since November 2006. He served as Vice Chairman of Kaufman & Broad SA from December 13, 2006 to April 2007. He is a recognized opinion leader in the homebuilding industry. He has been a Director of KB Home since November 2006. He serves as a Member of the NAHB High Production Builders Council and has served as an officer on numerous boards of the NAHB. He serves as a Director of Builder Homesite, Inc. He served as a Director of Kaufman & Broad SA from December 13, 2006 to April 2007. In 2012, Mr. Mezger was inducted into the California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame for his outstanding contribution to the building industry through innovation, public service and philanthropy. Mr. Mezger holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from DePauw University in 1977.
