The freedom and trust to interact with clients even early on in your career. Many times, it's you (the one who's working on the file) who's talking with the client, and it helps since you know the file (probably) better than anyone else.
It was a conversation. There were the basic "Tell me about yourself," and "What do you feel your strengths and weaknesses are," but after that was out of the way, the real "conversation" happened and we just talked honestly and openly about qualifications, experiences, and expectations.
My leadership team has instilled a level of confidence in my capabilities that has bled over into my personal belief. They treat you like an adult and let you take care of what you need to with minimal micromanagement. Unfortunately corporate and home office occasionally have conflicting information
Management really seems to make an attempt at caring. You've got something to take care of - go for it. You need PTO - sweet, hand off anything you haven't started and try to clear the important stuff. Need to adjust your schedule because "life" - Cool, let's talk about it and adjust as needed.
